- The New England Patriots (3-3) are 9-point home favorites over the visiting Chicago Bears (2-4) in Week 7
- Bill Belichick will move into second on the NFL’s all-time win list with his 325th career victory
- Monday Night Football on ESPN kicks off from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on October 24 at 8:15 pm ET
Bill Belichick talked glowingly about the 2-3 Bears for more than seven minutes in his Wednesday press conference, praising their quarterback, running backs, and head coach. This, of course, means that the New England Patriots are going to stomp Chicago at home on Monday night.

Will Mac Jones return?
According to the latest reports, sophomore quarterback Mac Jones expects to play versus the Bears after missing three games with a high left ankle sprain. However, since those reports came out of New England, there’s a good chance we see Bailey Zappe again. The rookie signal caller looked poised and accurate in a 38-15 demolishing of the Browns in Week 6, passing for 309 yards and two touchdowns.
To the delight of his fantasy managers, Rhamondre Stevenson should also draw another start with Damien Harris still recovering from a hamstring injury. Stevenson has run for 237 yards and 2 scores over the past two weeks while looking like one of the NFL’s premier backs.

Bill Belichick
With a victory over Chicago on Monday night, Bill Belichick will pass legendary Bears owner and coach George Halas for the second-most wins (325) by a head coach in NFL history.
As per usual, Belichick is embarrassing his off-season critics. His Patriots defense put the clamps on the Browns one week after shutting out the league’s top offense on the road in Detroit. His much-maligned first-round pick, Cole Strange, is dominating on the offensive line. And even his strange offensive coaching hires, Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, are looking good, with NE averaging over 30 points scored in their past three games.
Patriots vs. Bears
The Patriots are now 9-point home favorites over the Bears on Monday night after the line opened at a touchdown. The game also has a low over/under (40) because Chicago has scored the second-fewest points per game (15.5) this season. New England has also permitted the fewest points per game (14) over the past three weeks.
Justin Fields was hit in the pocket 12 times in a 12-7 loss to Washington last Thursday, with five resulting in sacks. The athletic, dual-threat quarterback rushed for 88 yards in that contest, but it’s safe to assume that Bill Belichick won’t let Fields beat him with his legs.

Best Bet
Nine points is a lot for a New England team that relies heavily on its ground game. But, it’s hard to envision the Bears offense being able to stay on the field against one of the league’s premier defenses. Chicago’s D will get tired, Rhamondre will punch in a few TDs, and the Patriots will score once or twice on defense to hit the OVER in a Monday Night Football blowout for the ages.
Final Score Prediction: New England 31, Bears 13
