- The New York Giants are 1-point home favorites over the Dallas Cowboys
- Jerry Jones’ club was a perfect 6-0 against the NFC East last season, outscoring the G-Men by 39 points in their two meetings
- Monday Night Football kicks off from MetLife Stadium on September 26 at 8:15pm ET
The Cowboys were written off for dead following Dak Prescott’s Week 1 hand injury. However, an improbable 20-17 victory over the Bengals has reinvigorated their season heading into a Monday Night Football matchup against the undefeated New York Giants.
The line has moved in Dallas’ direction and the total has dropped all the way down to 39 points. Before we check the latest odds on this divisional rivalry game, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2022.
Giants vs Cowboys

New York still undefeated
It’s amazing what competent coaching can do for a team. After jettisoning head coach Joe Judge and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, the Giants have started 2-0 for the first time since 2016. While the competition (Tennessee and Carolina) has been poor, Brian Daboll’s club will certainly take it especially since the franchise averaged just 4.4 wins per year over the past five seasons.
Don “Wink” Martindale’s defense has been key to Big Blue’s turnaround. Twelfth league-wide in total yards allowed at 634, the unit creatively blitzed Baker Mayfield in Sunday’s 19-16 victory over Carolina. It generated a 49.2% pressure rate in the second half. Now, they’ll face Cooper Rush on Monday Night Football.

QB Matchup
Cooper Rush only threw for 235 yards and a touchdown in a 20-17 win over the Bengals in Week 2. But, he protected the football and hit on passes of 8, 10 and 12 yards to set up a game-winning field goal.
Meanwhile, Daniel Jones has thrown for less than 200 yards in both of the Giants victories while only turning the ball over once. The 25-year-old is 1-3 versus Dallas in his career, throwing for only 759 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions and four lost fumbles.
Giants vs Cowboys
Looking to go 3-0 for the first time since 2009, New York was originally favored by 2.5 points before the line moved in Dallas’ direction. Cowboys bettors are banking on Micah Parsons blowing up the Giants game plan on Monday night. The 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year is Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded edge defender (92.2), registering four sacks in the first two weeks.
Already drawing Lawrence Taylor comparisons, Parsons has 17 sacks through his first 18 NFL games. The most ever since sacks became an official stat in 1982. It’s no wonder the total of the game has dropped down to 39 points.
Most sacks in first 18 career games (since 1982):
Micah Parsons 17
Aldon Smith 16.5
Joey Bosa 16
Jevon Kearse 16

Best Bet
The Cooper Rush – Daniel Jones QB matchup suggests that defense will rule the day. And with both teams sure to rely on their ground games, the difference could be an explosive play from Saquon Barkley or Tony Pollard.
While Dallas has way more talent on both sides of the ball, we believe Brian Daboll will out-scheme Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys to win a close one on Monday night.
Final Score Prediction: New York 17, Cowboys 16
