The Bears have beaten the Philadelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars; they know there is much value in the preseason, but this team needs confidence after they were awfully eliminated by the Green Bay Packers in week 17 last season.
“We don’t look at it as any more than it’s a game to get ourselves better,” Bears coach Marc Trestman said Monday. “The environment’s going to help us, we look at it as an opportunity to help us.
“I’m sure (Seahawks coach) Pete (Carroll) would say that they won the world championship last year, and they’re working themselves to try to become the team they need to become this year. But that’s their side of it.
The Seahawks are 1-1 in the preseason, losing to the Denver Broncos in week one, but beating the San Diego Chargers 41-14 last season, showing how hard is to win at the CenturyLink Feld, even on an exhibition game.
“It’s time for him to get some carries and get involved a little bit. I really could not be more pleased with the conditioning level that he’s had, the consistency of practice and his preparation has been great. He’ll be ready to go, and I know he’s looking forward to that too,” Seahawk’s Pete Carroll said.
The Seahawks are 7-point favorites in the NFL preseason betting odds for this game.
