One of the most interesting games in the preseason features the New England Patriots visiting the Philadelphia Eagles, this Friday at Lincoln Financial field at 7:30 PM ET.While the Eagles have an open quarterback battle, the Patriots need to give reps to their receivers to get in sync with Tom Brady.
Philadelphia named Michael Vick the starting quarterback for this game on Friday;Β Nick Foles will be second and Matt Barkley third.
“It was Mike’s day in the rotation, that was the easiest way for us to do it and then we’ll make sure the rotation works out that Nick will get the start next week,” coach Chip Kelly said, according to the team’s website. “The two of those guys, we feel like we’ve got it balanced out. We met with those guys this morning; they were great with it, so that’s kind of our plan going in.”
Vick is not too confident despite the fact that he will be starting.
“I can’t read into it,” Vick said according to The Philadelphia Daily News. “Coach, all he told us is that I’m going to start, but it won’t be the same next week. So you’ve got to take it for what it’s worth and keep moving.”
The Patriots, on the other hand, needs to give the new players time to adjust to Bradyβs system thatβs why we will see Tom a little more than we are used to during the preseason.
Bradyβs connection with rookie WR Aaron Dobson has been on the papers quite some time.
“He’s done great,” Brady said. “I’m proud of all those young players for coming in β we’ve thrown a lot of stuff at them (and they’ve handled it).”
The Eagles are 4 point favorites for this matchup.
