ESPN secured perhaps the best preseason game of 2014 as the Cleveland Browns take on the Washington Redskins, this Monday at 8 PM ET, at the FedEx Field, in the last game of the preseason week 2.
Cleveland has become a sexy city and the Browns a sexy team; most people will try to see what QB Johnny Manziel brings to the table on his second game with the team.
“I don’t think I’m ready for Pittsburgh right now,” Manziel told reporters Saturday. “I’ve only played one game.”
The Browns will start the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but so far is Brian Hoyer who’s schedule to start in week 1.
“I don’t think there’s any pressure on me. I’m still learning; I’m still growing. The expectations aren’t thru the roof,” Manziel added.
On the opposite side are the Washington Redskins, who are set with their starting QB Robert Griffin III, but he will have some pressure to show he’s the guy for this franchise; backup Kirk Cousins is putting lots of pressure on him.
The Redskins beat the New England Patriots 23-6 in week one of the preseason.
“We came out and did what we wanted to do,” Griffin said. “Got the 1’s in and out, had an effective drive. Got some points, almost had a touchdown.”
The preseason odds for this Monday Night matchup has the Redskins as favorites by 2.5 points, and the game total was set at 42.
