The Patriots and the Lions will try to give one of the most interesting matchups in the preseason week 3, when they clash this Thursday at 7:30 PM ET at Ford Field.
“Interesting” and “preseason” might not sound correct together, considering well; itβs the preseason, but both teams will show a lot on this game.
Tom Brady will play close to three quarters as he needs to stay in sync with his new receivers.Β Brady played in the game against the Bucs in week two and looked great, but he was scared about his knee injury.
“Any time you go down, it’s a little scary, but that’s the sport,” Brady said. “It happens in the games. It happens in practice, and I’m certainly not the first or the last to have it happen. I’m fortunate that it wasn’t very bad, so … I was able to get treatment and get back out on the field with my teammates and get back to work.”
The Lions have injury problems as well as WR Calvin Johnson hasnβt practiced with regularity due to a bruised knee.Β Coach Jim Schwartz doesnβt know if heβll be on the field on Thursday.
“Haven’t decided yet at all,” coach Jim Schwartz said of Johnson’s status. “Today was very similar to a Friday for him (during the regular season). A lot of those decisions we don’t make until the night before the game. We still got a lot of time to make a good decision.”
The Lions are 2.5 favorites for this matchup.
