Ravens vs Saints: NFL Monday Night Football Week 9 Picks

  • The Baltimore Ravens (5-3) are 2.5-point home favorites over the New Orleans Saints (3-5) in Week 9
  • John Harbaugh’s club acquired LB Roquan Smith for a second- and  fifth-round pick at the NFL trade deadline
  • Monday Night Football on ESPN kicks off from M&T Bank Stadium on November 5 at 8:15pm ET

Heading into last Sunday, the Saints seemed lost without longtime head coach Sean Payton. However, after shutting out the Raiders 24-0 in their home building, New Orleans has their swagger back in a surprisingly winnable NFC South division.

Can Dennis Allen’s club continue their momentum in Baltimore on Monday Night Football? Before we check the odds on the Week 9 game, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2022.

Alvin Kamara gets rolling

Alvin Kamara urged his Saints teammates to get their swag back following a Week 7 loss to the Cardinals. The multi-purpose back then put his money where is mouth is, racking up 156 total yards and three touchdowns in a 24-0 victory over Las Vegas

After allowing their last four opponents to average 33 points per game, Dennis Allen’s defense stymied the Raiders offense on Sunday. Derek Carr managed only 101 passing yards with a pick, and Josh Jacobs ran for only 43 yards after he rolled for 441 yards and six scores in his previous three games.

Ravens are well rested

Baltimore is coming off a “mini-bye” following their 28-22 triumph over the Buccaneers last Thursday. However, with their real bye coming up in Week 10, they may be shorthanded on Monday night if they choose to hold a few key players out.

Star tight end Mark Andrews suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter and running back Gus Edwards exited the game with a hamstring strain.  Sophomore receiver also left the contest after re-aggravating a foot injury.

Ravens vs Saints

Baltimore is a 2.5-point home favorite over New Orleans on Monday night with a high over/under of 48 total points. Even after last week’s shutout of the Raiders, Dennis Allen’s D is allowing the fifth-most points-per-game (25.0) in the NFL.

The Ravens are a bottom-five unit against the pass, permitting 266.8 yards per contest. However, the acquisition of linebacker Roquan Smith from the Bears should provide a big boost for defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.

After a sluggish start in Tampa Bay last Thursday, Lamar Jackson went 8 for 8 for 94 passing yards and 2 TDs in the second half with an additional 43 yards on the ground. All and all, Baltimore ran the ball 26 times for 204 yards.

Even if Gus Edwards and Mark Andrews are unable to suit up, the Ravens offense won’t miss a beat. Kenyan Drake has been surprisingly serviceable in the backfield this season and rookie Isaiah Likely built on his standout preseason by reeling in six of his seven targets for 77 yards and a TD in Week 8 mop up duty.

Best Bet

New Orleans has a chance to jump back into the NFC South playoff picture with a victory on Monday night. Yet, Baltimore has been the better, more consistent team this season. We like the Ravens to improve their record to 6-3 heading into their Week 10 bye.

Final Score Prediction: Baltimore 30, Saints 20
