Geoff JohnsonThe Houston Texans will have another shot on Sunday night to prove they are for real as they face the Chicago Bears, at 8:20 PM ET at Soldier Field, in the most intense game of the week.
The Texans had an opportunity in week six, but they failed hard against an inspired Green Bay Packers team. They can’t allow the same mistake against a Bears team that is rolling.
“It’s kind of a strength against a strength,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “Hopefully we can hold up our end of the bargain”.
Chicago, which is on top of the NFC North, also knows how high the stakes are for this matchup.
” Each game as you continue to win, the stakes go up a little bit higher,” Bears coach Lovie Smith. “We realize that and we’re going to embrace it. We’re going to embrace this national stage that we have this Sunday night.”
“I don’t want the guys to start thinking, `Hey, let’s hold on, something bad’s going to happen,” Smith said. “We’re a good football team. We’re excited about playing the Texans. I see our team getting better and better. We haven’t peaked yet”.
Houston tight end Owen Daniels has caught all five of his touchdowns in the last six games, but he is questionable with a hip injury for Sunday.
Chicago is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games, and Houston is 7-2 SU in its last 9 games on the road.
