As the 2021 NFL season nears its close and as teams attempt to tighten their grasp on a playoff spot, there has been a lot of movement in the odds regarding what team will walk out of SoFi Stadium with the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the close of Super Bowl 56.
Super Bowl 56 Odds Update
New England continues to climb
The Patriots did not play during Week 14, but that didn’t stop the club from climbing the board. New England, who started the 2021 NFL season with a 2-4 record, is now 9-4 on the season and unbeaten in their past seven games. The Patriots have played well behind rookie quarterback Mac Jones. However, the bulk of the credit really needs to go to the coaching staff of the Patriots. That group has the team firing on all cylinders and playing as a complete and unified team. The Patriots have a very good chance to head into the playoffs with wins in their final four games. They face the Colts, Bills, Jaguars and Dolphins in those contests.

Kansas City heats up
Kansas City stomped the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14. The Chiefs had a 35-3 lead at halftime and finished the game with a 48-9 win. The Kansas City Chiefs have been an okay offensive team this season, but it is the team’s defense that is doing most of the heavy lifting. If the Raiders game was a turning point for the Chiefs’ offense, then it’s time to take them for a serious threat to win the Super Bowl. Kansas City has a game that should allow is offense to shine in Week 15 as Patrick Mahomes and the company face the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night.
"It was the largest victory over the Raiders in franchise history and the biggest win against any opponent for Kansas City since 2006." 📝

The Baltimore Ravens were in the Super Bowl mix for a long while. Baltimore, who is still in first place in the AFC North with a record of 8-5, now looks like nothing but a longshot. The Ravens saw quarterback Lamar Jackson leave the field early in Week 14 with an ankle injury. The Ravens did their best to stay in the game against the Cleveland Browns, but they could not mount the comeback needed to get the win. Even with a healthy Jackson, the Ravens have struggled. Baltimore is 2-3 in its past five games and has lost its past two to teams it should have defeated, Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Things do not look great for Baltimore this week either as the team faces the Green Bay Packers who are on a two-game winning streak.

Super Bowl 56 Pick
The Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their fourth straight game of the season on Sunday with an overtime win over the Buffalo Bills. The Buccaneers have put up 30 or more points in all four of those games. Brady has connected for more than 350 passing yards in his two most recent outings and he has thrown for a league-best 34 touchdown passes this season.
The Buccaneers close out the season against the Saints, Panthers (two games) and the New York Jets. None of those teams has a winning record. Expect Brady and the Bucs to enter the playoffs with all the confidence in the world.
"It's great to see [Breshad Perriman] make that play. It's going to give us a lot of confidence."
