Bills open as Lombardi Favorite

Buffalo (+700) handed two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller a jaw-dropping six-year, $120 million deal to solidify their pass rush. After a devastating 42-36 overtime loss to the Chiefs in last year’s AFC divisional game, the Bills’ braintrust believe the 32-year-old edge rusher is the final piece to a championship club.

While Josh Allen and the Bills have to go through a loaded AFC, Tom Brady’s road to an eighth Lombardi title is paved in gold following a talent exodus from the Green Bay Packers (+1000) and the rest of the NFC. Looking quarterback-less and hopeless just over a week ago, the Buccaneers (+800) are once again the class of the conference after resigning receiver Chris Godwin, cornerback Carlton Davis and center Ryan Jensen.

Stacked AFC West

First, Russell Wilson headed to the Denver Broncos (+1600) to compete with Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert. Then, five-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams was traded from the Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders (+3500) to reunite with his college buddy Derek Carr. The Los Angeles Chargers (+1500) were also aggressive in bringing in defensive end Khalil Mack and former Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson.

Kansas City (+850) stayed relatively quiet in comparison, signing receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and safety Justin Reid. The Chiefs’ streak of six straight AFC West titles could be in jeopardy, and whichever club finishes last in this division is going to have some serious egg on their face.

Deshaun Watson lands in Cleveland

The Browns (+1400) are being criticized for bringing in Deshaun Watson amidst a litany of sexual misconduct allegations, but compromising one’s morals is a small price to pay to escape quarterback purgatory.

While a multi-game suspension for the QB would put them behind the eight-ball in the AFC North, Cleveland is currently favored ahead of the Bengals (+2500), Ravens (+2500) and Steelers (+5500) to win their first division title since 1989.

What about the defending champs?

The Los Angeles Rams (+1200) lost Von Miller, Robert Woods and left tackle Andrew Whitworth off their championship roster, but souped-up their receiving corps with the addition of Allen Robinson and re-upped QB Matthew Stafford. Sean McVay’s club could also face less resistance in the NFC West with Wilson no longer in Seattle, Kyler Murray “beefing” with Cardinals brass, and the 49ers (+1400) set to start unproven sophomore Trey Lance.

More QB movement to come

Matt Ryan could land in San Francisco, Indianapolis (+3500), Philadelphia (+4500) or Seattle (+7700) after the Falcons’ failed courtship of Watson, and Cleveland still has to find a new home for Baker Mayfield. Jameis Winston should also be back in New Orleans (+4500) after the Saints couldn’t find anyone else.
