Titans vs Colts: NFL Sunday Week 7 Picks

  • The Tennessee Titans (3-2) are 2.5-point home favorites over the Indianapolis Colts (3-2-1)
  • Star running back Jonathan Taylor may return after missing two games with an ankle injury
  • The Week 7 game on CBS will kick off from Nissan Stadium on Sunday, October 23 at 1pm ET

When Tennessee and Indianapolis first squared off in Week 4, the game was billed as a battle of the league’s past two rushing champions. Derrick Henry ran for 114 yards and a touchdown in a 24-17 Titans victory and Jonathan Taylor suffered an ankle injury that has kept him out of action ever since.

The Colts star running back reportedly has a shot to return for the Week 7 rematch. Before we check the odds for the pivotal AFC South clash, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2022.

Titans return from a bye

The sky was falling for the Titans following a 41-7 blowout loss to the Bills in Week 2. But, Mike Vrabel’s club rebounded with three straight Ws over the Raiders, Colts and Commanders. Coming off a Week 6 bye and still in first place in the AFC South, Tennessee can wrap up the head-to-head tiebreaker with Indy with a second victory over their divisional foes in four weeks.

Frank Reich’s seat is much cooler after an infamously ugly win over the Broncos on Thursday Night Football and a comeback 34-27 triumph over the Jaguars on Sunday. The victory over Jacksonville avenged both a 24-0 shutout loss in the season opener and a 26-11 defeat in Week 18 of last year that kept Indianapolis out of the postseason. Now, Reich looks to end a three-game losing skid to Vrabel and the Titans.

Will Taylor return?

Before betting on this one, keep an eye out for the Colts’ injury reports. Jonathan Taylor could miss his third-straight game with an ankle injury. His replacement, Deon Jackson, also left Sunday’s game with a quad injury after racking up 121 total yards and a TD on 21 touches.

Without both, Indianapolis could be in trouble versus a Titans defense that limited Taylor to 42 yards on 20 carries (2.1 avg) in Week 4.

Matt Ryan resurgence?

Matt Ryan passed for 389 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday, connecting with Alec Pierce on a game-winning 32-yard strike with 23 seconds left. Frank Reich went with an extremely pass-heavy game script in the 34-27 win over the Jags, having his 37-year-old QB throw 58 times.

Most surprising of all, Ryan was kept clean all day after being sacked an NFL-leading 21 times in the season’s first six weeks. The Titans registered three sacks and five QB hits in their Week 4 victory over Indianapolis and could be getting back outside linebacker Bud Dupree.

Titans vs Colts

The Titans are 2.5-point home favorites on Sunday and the over/under is a pedestrian 43.5 points. While the divisional rivals have exceeded that total in three of their past four meetings, both clubs have struggled to score at times this season.

Tennessee has scored only seven second-half points during their three-game win streak. And, before Week 6’s offensive explosion, the Colts hadn’t put up more than 20 points in 2022. This includes being shutout in Week 1 and a pathetic 12-point effort in an overtime win over the Broncos in Week 5.

Mike Vrabel has had Frank Reich’s number over the years, so we’ll take the AFC South-leading Titans to complete the season sweep of Indy at home on Sunday.

Final Score Prediction: Tennessee 20, Colts 16
