Thursday night football features two NFC West divisional rivals as the Seattle Seahawks look to win on the road when they visit the Arizona Cardinals, at U of Phoenix Stadium at 8:25 PM ET, in the opening of the NFL week 7.
Seattle returned to the winning side after beating the Tennessee Titans on Sunday 20-13. It wasn’t easy or pretty, but it was their 11 straight win at home.
“It’s nice to learn while you are winning and I think that’s where we are,” coach Pete Carroll said. “That’s what we’re hoping to continue.
“I don’t know if we’ll be able to reach the levels that we saw late last year where we were scoring points at a huge rate (while winning the final five regular-season games). That was an enormous run that we had. But that’s good to expect that, and I’d like to see that too.”
The Cardinals lost to the 49ers 32-20 in week 6, but they are 2-0 playing at home despite they were underdogs both times (vs. Detroit & Carolina).
“It was tough, man,” Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington said to the game in San Francisco. “Once you get your back to the wall, you have to toughen it out. I thought we lost our energy that fourth quarter to end the game. We didn’t play like we did the first three quarters and the game got away from us.”
Seattle is 1-6 straight and against the spread in its last 7 games when playing on the road against Arizona. The Cardinals have won 11 of their last 15 games at home.
The betting lines have Seattle as 6.5 favorites, and the game total is at 40.
