Week 14’s Monday Night Football game was a meaningful matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the Arizona Cardinals. The win moved the Rams to 9-4, while dropping the Cardinals to 10-3.

The Week 15 Monday Night Football game pits the Minnesota Vikings, who are 6-7 against the Chicago Bears, who are 4-9. This is the first of two meetings between these NFC North rivals. The clubs will face off again in Week 18 in Minnesota.

Vikings vs. Bears Odds

Vikings vs. Bears

The Vikings bounced back from a loss to the Detroit Lions (Detroit’s only win this season), to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 36-28 in Week 14 of the 2021 NFL season. The victory ended a two-game losing skid for the Vikings. As for the Chicago Bears, they enter the Week 15 Monday Night Football matchup on a two-game losing skid. The Bears are coming off a 45-30 setback to the Green Bay Packers. Neither of these clubs has been a picture of consistency this season and neither team has won more than two straight games.

I expect this to be a high-scoring affair. Both teams are among the worst in rushing defense. The Vikings have allowed 1,684 yards on the ground, which is worse than the Bears’ total of 1,560 yards. Both teams are also in the bottom half of the NFL when yards per carry are extrapolated from that figure with the Vikings giving up 4.7 yards and the Bears surrendering 4.3.

A positive for the Bears on the defense is that they are much better against the pass than the Vikings are. The Vikings have given up 3,275 yards in the air as compared to 2,814 for Chicago. With that, the question becomes can the Bears offense, which is much more reliant on its running game can find success in the air.

I expect Justin Fields, who threw for a season’s best two touchdowns against the Packers to have a good game against the Vikings, and I think that Fields will be the difference in this game.

MNF Best Bets

Pick the Bears to win. One thing that can’t be overlooked in this game is that the Vikings quarterback, Kirk Cousins, has not had a great deal of success on MNF when compared to his performances on Sunday.

Bet the over. The Vikings have scored more than 26 or more points in each of their past six games and the Bears have been potent with Justin Fields under center.
