Geoff JohnsonThe last time the NY Giants and the San Francisco 49ers met, a trip to the Super Bowl was on the line, this Sunday at 4:25 at Candlestick, San Francisco will look for revenge and to show who the best team in the NFC is.
“Of course after what happened last year I definitely want to get back at these guys,” Kyle Williams who had tremendous mistakes in that last meeting said. “We look at it as if they have something that we should have had. We’re going to make sure we don’t leave anything on the field again”.
San Francisco smashed Buffalo 45-3 gaining 621 total yards in the process (most in franchise history). “I’m not a big statistical guy, don’t get caught up in it,” 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said. “But at the same time, just in the normal course of events to be able to throw up that kind of production, obviously we’re doing something right”.
Coach Jim Harbaugh knows the challenge is not an easy one. “The Giants are an outstanding team,” Harbaugh said. “They’ve got an explosive offense. They’re very balanced”.
For New York is time for some kind redemption, because despite they won the last game in San Francisco, they clearly were lucky.
“That game was certainly something that we thought about all (offseason) even though we won the Super Bowl, and we beat them in that game,” guard Chris Snee said. “We still walked away saying that we didn’t play well, we didn’t do our job up front. That can motivate you though the offseason”.
Consider San Francisco is 11-4 SU in their last 15 games when playing at home against NY Giants.
