It’s hard to believe but at the conclusion of this week’s games we’ll already be one-third of the way through the 2021 NFL season. Some of the early-year surprises so far are the Chiefs registering three losses in their first five games, the Cardinals being the league’s last undefeated team, and Jon Gruden being unemployed.

Packers (-4.5) over Bears
The Bears defense has been much-improved in 2021 under new defensive coordinator Sean Desai, with a league-leading team total of 15 sacks, but Chicago has won just one of their last 10 games against the Packers. Aaron Rodgers enjoys a 20-5 career record against the Bears with 55 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, and Green Bay should enter the divisional game focused after narrowly escaping Week 5 with a 25-22 overtime victory over the Bengals.

Cowboys (-4.5) over Patriots
Let’s keep riding the Cowboys, the only team in the NFL this season with a flawless 5-0 record against the spread. With six straight losses in the head-to-head series, Dallas hasn’t beat the Patriots since 1996, but we all know Tom Brady is heavily responsible for most of those Ws. Dak Prescott shouldn’t find the going too tough against a Bill Belichick defense that just allowed Davis Mills to carve them up for 313 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Chargers (+3.0) over Ravens
In the game of the week, Justin Herbert and the 4-1 Chargers head to Baltimore to face a 4-1 Ravens club fresh off a thrilling 31-25 comeback victory over the Colts on Monday Night Football. Slowing down Lamar Jackson won’t be easy after the 2019 NFL MVP set a new NFL record for completion percentage (86%) in a 400-yard passing game with at least 40 attempts, but Brandon Staley and company already have wins over the Chiefs and Browns this season.
Lamar Jackson tonight 🤯
🔹 1st QB in NFL history to complete 85% of passes in 400-yard game
🔹 Highest comp % in a 40-pass game in NFL history (86.0%)
🔹 Franchise-record 442 pass yards
🔹 Overcame largest deficit of his NFL career (19) pic.twitter.com/7cvqpkAK4f— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) October 12, 2021
Browns (-2.5) over Cardinals
Fresh off allowing 47 points to the Chargers, Cleveland now has to find a way to stop Kyler Murray and the unbeaten Cardinals. The best defense might be a good offense in this case as Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt should pile up yards against an Arizona defense that ranks bottom five in defensive rush success rate. Sure to be motivated against a fellow Oklahoma Heisman-winning quarterback, look for Baker Mayfield to make just enough plays to get the Browns back on track.
