The undefeated (and some might say overrated) Atlanta Falcons expose their record against the Philadelphia Eagles, this Sunday at 1 PM ET at Lincoln Financial Field, in what could be one of the most interesting games in week 8 of the NFL.
The Falcons are coming off a bye week, but some can’t forget how bad they looked against the Raiders two weeks ago, at home. Atlanta has the league easiest schedule so far this season with a 13-24 combined record from their opponents.
“We’ve got to be consistent in everything we do,” coach Mike Smith said. “We haven’t run the ball consistently, and we’re not stopping the run. Those two things stand out the most”.
“Most of it is about us. We’ve got to go out, and we have to execute,” Smith told the team’s official website. “We’ve got to be prepared for some unscouted looks, and I don’t think there will be a mass change in what they do philosophically because they’ve invested so much time into the scheme that they’re running”.
The Eagles, on the other hand, sound like a broken record with their speech about taking care of the football; however, they don’t put it in practice on Sundays.
“Just protect the ball,” Vick said. “It’s not hard. It’s not a science to it; just protect the football at all times. Despite the circumstances, I still sit back there and try to make the plays that I know I can make and that’s just me and my confidence in myself and confidence in the guys”.
Consider Philly is 13-0 in games immediately following a bye week with Andy Reid as a head coach.
