2021 NFL Draft Prop Bets, Picks and Predictions

  • Bovada and BetOnline have a wide variety of fun 2021 NFL Draft Props
  • Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson are overwhelming favorites to be the 1st and 2nd overall picks
  • The three-day event will be held in Cleveland, Ohio from April 29 to May 2

Second only to the Super Bowl in wagering opportunities, the NFL Draft offers an incredible amount of things to bet on – who will go first overall, which incoming rookies will be drafted first at their respective positions, over/unders on when each player will come off the board, and props that allow you to play general manager and bet on which position your favorite team will take with their first-round pick.

With less than two weeks until the start of the NFL Draft in Cleveland, here are four of our favorite prop bets based on intel from league insiders and the latest NFL mock drafts.

2021 NFL Draft – 3rd Overall Pick

Fields now favored to go to 49ers

Who doesn’t like a good mystery? When the Niners traded three first-round picks to secure the third-overall pick, insiders like Chris Simms, Daniel Jeremiah and Adam Schefter speculated that Kyle Shanahan was after Kirk Cousins-clone Mac Jones. The Alabama signal caller immediately became the betting favorite while Justin Fields seemingly started to slide down draft boards.

However, draft chatter reversed sharply in the Ohio State quarterback’s direction last week, making Fields -160 chalk to be the No. 3 selection. With two weeks left to go until draft night, there will surely be more twists and turns in this soap opera. Right now, we recommend dad-bod Mac Jones at +150 (Bovada), but raw and athletic North Dakota State QB Trey Lance is an intriguing dark horse (+500 on BetOnline).

2021 NFL Draft – First Non-QB Drafted

Bovada
Kyle Pitts-120
Ja'Marr Chase+250
Penei Sewell+270
Rashawn Slater+650

Will Falcons take Kyle Pitts?

With quarterbacks scheduled to go 1-2-3, the Falcons are in position to take the best skill-position player on the board. That’s a 6-foot-6, 245-pound unicorn Kyle Pitts. The Florida tight end is the -120 favorite to be the first non-QB drafted, however, there is a chance that a talent-thin Atlanta team decides to move down for additional assets.

If that happens, the franchise moving up to No. 4 likely takes a quarterback. With Cincinnati up next, they either take Pitts fifth overall, upgrade Joe Burrow’s protection with offensive tackle Penei Sewell (+270) or reunite their quarterback with LSU receiver Ja’Marr Chase (+250). We think the Bengals will do the latter – making Chase a decent bet if the Falcons trade down.

2021 NFL Draft – First RB Drafted

BetOnlineBovada
Najee Harris-140-170
Travis Etienne+150+150
Javonte Williams+475+500

Najee Harris or Travis Etienne?

After scoring 30 touchdowns for Alabama’s national championship team in 2020, Najee Harris is a -140 favorite to be the first running back selected, with reports linking him to the Steelers and Dolphins. However, NFL.com draft analyst says that almost every team he talks to has Clemson product Travis Etienne (+150) on top of their boards.

Other positional bets to consider are offensive lineman Rashawn Slater (+270) going ahead of Sewell, cornerback Jaycee Horn (+200) sneaking in front of Patrick Surtain and Michigan’s Kwity Paye being the first defensive player drafted at +600.

2021 NFL Draft – Position of Cowboys’ First Drafted Player

Bovada
Cornerback+100
Defensive Lineman+300
Offensive Lineman+300
Linebacker+800
Tight End+1600
Wide Receiver+2200
Safety+5000

What does Dallas do?

Most mock drafts have the Cowboys shoring up their pass defense with cornerback Patrick Surtain. Yet, there have been reports that Jerry Jones is enamored with Pitts and the tight end position pays off handsomely at +1600. Still, we believe the pick will be on the offensive line (+300) after Dak Prescott and multiple OL starters went down with injuries in 2020.

Meanwhile, Kansas City is expected to beef up protection around Patrick Mahomes, but they could also use another wide receiver (+300) to take the pressure off Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill. The Super Bowl champions in Tampa Bay are also +2000 to take a quarterback even though Tom Brady is soon-to-be 44 years old, and a number of quality later-round pivots should be available.
