NFL Preseason Week 4: NY Jets vs Eagles Odds

The NY Jets will face the Eagles in the last game of the 2012 preseason with lots of questions in their offense, but knowing that they just found what should be their right tackle for the rest of the season.

Just Smith joined the Jets on Wednesday coming from St. Louis and could see some minutes against the Eagles. Smith was a number 2 overall pick in 2009.

Smith was due to make $4 million in base salary this year, while tackle Wayne Hunter was due $2.45 million. The teams worked out an arrangement where the amount each pays out will not change, according to a person with knowledge of the agreement.

Wayne Hunter is now with the Rams.

The Jets needs to protect either Mark Sanchez or Tim Tebow; any of those two will be the starting quarterback to an offense that just doesn’t seem all that talented.

The Eagles, on the other hand, are filled with talent in both sides of the ball, but there will not be any sign of Michael Vick for this game.  Rookie Nick Foles will play the first quarter, and then, Trent Edwards will take over for the rest of the match.

“Right now that’s what he is,” Reid said of Foles. “He’s the one that’s going to start the [Jets] game. “You ask me right now, I’m just telling you. That’s what it is. I can’t get any clearer than that”.

The lines have the Eagles at a -5 favorite over the NY Jets.
