Week 1 of the NFL season always brings a fair share of surprises and this year was no different with the Bills, Browns, Colts, Packers, Ravens and Titans (all 11-game winners in 2020) losing their season openers. In total, nine of 16 underdogs won outright and 12 of 16 underdogs covered the closing spread.
Will this week bring more upsets and chaos? Let’s look at the Week 2 money lines, totals and point spreads and place our bets without overreacting too much to what we witnessed in the first week of the 2021 season. But before we do, here’s where you can get tips and advice on betting on NFL football games and Super Bowl futures.

Saints (-3.0) over Panthers
Was Jameis Winston’s five-touchdown performance against the Packers a mirage? We might find out when the Saints line up against the Panthers’ young, underrated defense. Then again, we also might discover Sam Darnold is still Sam Darnold if New Orleans plays the same brand of lockdown defense that mystified Aaron Rodgers in Week 1.
Bengals (+1.0) over Bears
Two of the league worst offensive lines will be in full matador mode in Chicago this Sunday as Andy Dalton seeks to win a “revenge game” against the Bengals before inevitably getting benched for rookie Justin Fields. After Matthew Stafford picked the Bears secondary apart in the opener (156.1 passer rating), Joe Burrow should be able to make sweet music with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on the outside.
LOVE this from Joe Burrow, who took the podium today just after Ja’Marr Chase.

Cardinals (-3.5) over Vikings
Chandler Jones might knock Kirk Cousins out of action before COVID gets a chance. His five sacks highlighted a dominant Cardinals defensive performance in a 38-13 shellacking of the Titans in Week 1. The Vikings D didn’t look so bad against Cincinnati either, surrendering only six points in the game’s final 34 minutes, but stopping early NFL MVP candidate Kyler Murray will prove impossible in Arizona’s home opener.
Broncos (-6.0) over Giants
Give Urban Meyer some credit. At least he didn’t pack up and leave before Jacksonville’s home opener. With their coach possibly en route to USC, the Jaguars have little chance of hanging with the Broncos after allowing almost 300 passing yards and 160 rushing yards to the expansion-like Houston Texans last week. Denver hit the NFC schedule lottery, opening their season with the Giants, Jags and next week – the Jets!
Urban Meyer says there’s “no chance” he will go for the USC HC opening and is “committed to here and building an organization.” pic.twitter.com/sYOFm5miXz

Chiefs (-3.5) over Ravens
Once the heart of their team, Baltimore’s defense got tuned up on Monday Night Football by Derek Carr and the Raiders Minus their top two backs, the Ravens offense also looked nothing like the juggernaut it was in Lamar Jackson’s 2019 MVP campaign. That’s bad news given Lamar hasn’t beaten the Chiefs in three tries and got blown out by KC on MNF last year.
