Penguins vs Bruins
After defeating the Penguins 2-1 on Saturday, Boston ended St. Louis’ nine-game winning streak with a 3-2 overtime victory on Tuesday. However, the Bruins will still be without David Pastrnak and Hampus Lindholm for their rematch with Pittsburgh on Thursday. Sidney Crosby and company haven’t played since that last meeting with the B’s and should have the fresh legs required to even the score.
Final score prediction: Penguins 4, Bruins 2

Lightning vs Maple Leafs
In a potential playoff preview, the Maple Leafs head to the Sunshine State looking to extend their four-game win streak. Tampa Bay is just 4-4-2 in their past 10 games, and likely wouldn’t mind dropping from third-place in the Atlantic to a Wild-Card spot. This would lock-in a postseason matchup with the Hurricanes, rather than the Leafs. Of course, the two-time defending Stanley Cup champs probably wouldn’t take steps to avoid a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff series since 2004, but it’s fun to speculate.
Final score prediction: Lightning 4, Leafs 3 OT
Wild vs Canucks
Playing inspired hockey for Bruce Boudreau, the Canucks had won six straight before a costly 4-3 overtime-loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. But it might be a case of too little, too late for Vancouver, which is still four points behind the Kings for the final playoff spot in the Pacific with only five games left to play. Meanwhile, Minnesota is a blazing hot 7-1-2 in their last 10 and have the fifth-best home record (27-7-2) in the NHL. Look for the Wild to officially end the Canucks’ playoff chances on Thursday night.
Final score prediction: Wild 3, Canucks 1

Panthers vs Red Wings
Winners of 11 in a row, the Panthers are seeking their first President’s Trophy in franchise history. Sitting just two points back of the Avalanche, Florida should have no trouble knocking off a Red Wings squad that is under .500 in their past 10.
Final score prediction: Panthers 5, Red Wings 2
Islanders vs Rangers
When the year began, the Islanders were considered Cup contenders after consecutive trips to the Conference Finals. But it’s New York’s other hockey team that will be hosting a playoff game come May. The Rangers are coming off a 3-0 shutout of the Jets and will play Pittsburgh when the postseason gets underway the week after next. With nothing to play for, the Blueshirts will drop this one to their in-state rivals.
Final score prediction: Islanders 3, Rangers 2
