The latest team attempting to stop the rampant Boston Bruins is the Arizona Coyotes. Here we look ahead to the prospects of the Coyotes turning the form book upside down in our latest NHL hockey betting picks.
- Competition; NHL
- Match; Arizona Coyotes vs Boston Bruins
- Where; Mullett Arena, Tempe, Arizona
- When; Friday, December 9th, 2022
- Puck Drop; 9.30 pm ET
The Bruins are just ripping it up at the moment. They are the favorites to win just about everything. In the latest betting to win the 2023 Stanley Cup, they are just +500. They’ve overtaken the defending champs, the Colorado Avalanche, on the back of two big wins over their injury hit rivals.
The best NHL hockey betting sites haven’t written off Jared Bednar’s team though. The Avalanche is +650 to retain the title they won last year. That might not sound too big just yet, but the gap in the odds between the Avalanche and the Bruins seems to be growing after every match.
Following on from the two favorites is the Vegas Golden Knights. They are actually the only side to do the unthinkable lately – beat the Bruins. Bruce Cassidy’s team defeated Boston at TD Garden on Monday, via a shootout. They followed up that epic win by losing 5-1 at home to the Rangers on Wednesday night. You couldn’t make it up really.
Elsewhere in NHL futures betting the Bruins continue to dominate. In the betting to win the Eastern Conference they are +260 favorites, and for the Atlantic Division, they are -300. They just look unstoppable at the moment.

Six match losing streak, and up next is the Bruins!
At the moment there isn’t really an ideal time to play the Bruins, just ask the current Stanley Cup holders about that. But for the Coyotes this is an especially bad time, as they’re on a six match losing streak. The only consolation they can really take into this match is they’re expected to lose, so there shouldn’t really be any pressure on them.
The six defeats almost slightly masks the fact that they are 1-6-3 in their last ten. Three of the games finished level and are OTLs, and the majority of the losses are only by a point or two. But Wednesday night was a new low of late, an 8-2 hiding away to the Oilers. The last thing you need before having to entertain the form side in the NHL.

Overall, Arizona is 7-13-4 this season. And already at this early stage, it’s obvious their only battle this year looks to be with the Blackhawks to avoid finishing bottom of the Central Division.
The Bruins keep marching on
We already know all about the Bruins, they are absolutely tearing it up at the moment. The only question these days is can they keep it up for the remainder of the season? They might be favorites in the betting to win the 2023 Stanley Cup, but the final is a long way off at the moment.
As things stand, the Bruins are top of the Atlantic Division, with games in hand on the Toronto Maple Leafs who sit in second place. In their last ten matches, they are 8-1-1, and in that run are two wins over the Avalanche – both this week.
At the weekend they cashed in on home advantage and injuries to key Avalanche players to win 5-1, and then on Wednesday the Bruins traveled to Denver and left with a comprehensive 4-0 win.

Overall this season, Boston is 21-3-1. It’s almost impossible to imagine there won’t be an extra digit added to the biggest number in the Bruins’ statistics at the conclusion of this matchup.
Coyotes vs Bruins Betting and Picks
Right onto the latest odds, and our NHL betting picks, and as you would expect, Boston is obviously the favorites to win this match. On the moneyline, the Bruins are -320, with the Coyotes at +280.
When we move onto the handicap line, we see the Coyotes receiving the +1.5 points start. Here, Arizona is +105. Starting from -1.5 points, Boston is a nice looking -125.
Finally, total points are set at 6. For over 6 it is -101, under 6 is -109.
Even though Boston has had a relentless schedule, and the Coyotes haven’t been getting badly hammered (prior to the Oilers match that is), I don’t think odds of +125 on the Bruins can be ignored at this moment in time.
So my first betting pick for this match is for the Boston Bruins to win on the handicap.
On the total points line, I like the look of overs. I just think that there are usually goals at both ends in matches involving the Coyotes, and although they won’t be free scoring against the Bruins, I can see enough chances being created to make it worth the risk backing over 6.
