Dallas Stars betting breakdown

Jake Oettinger had an outstanding opening round in net for the Dallas Stars. At the end of the Stars’ series against the Minnesota Wild, which lasted six games, Oettinger was among the top three goaltenders in the league in both goals against average (2.01) and save percentage (.929). However, his numbers have ballooned since the opening game against the Kraken. Oettinger’s goals against average for the Kraken series is 3.30 and his save percentage stands at .884. Dallas pulled Oettinger in Game 3 after he allowed five goals on 17 shots.

Roope Hintz, who had 75 points during the regular season, is the team leader in points (13) and goals (5) for the Stars. However, He has not scored in the Kraken series, nor has the Stars’ breakout performer in the regular season, Jason Robertson. Meanwhile, Joe Pavelski, who missed all but one game of the Wild series, has five goals in this series, but four of those came in Game 1 and the other in Game 2. In short, Dallas’ scoring leaders must put the puck in the net if they hope to win this series.

One way to help the Stars would be for head coach Peter DeBoer to put Hintz, Robertson, and Pavelski back together as a top line unit.

There is some concern that Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen could be out of the lineup in Game 4 after taking a puck to the ace in Game 3. Without him, the Stars will be in trouble.

Seattle Kraken betting breakdown

The Seattle Kraken played excellent team hockey in their Game 3 win over the Dallas Stars. When the contest ended, 11 players on the roster had at least one point. The team’s leading scorer was Matty Beniers, who is a finalist for the 2023 Calder Memorial Trophy for the NHL’s best rookie, with two points. If the Kraken can continue their balanced team attack, they will give the Stars trouble in this series.

No player on the Kraken roster has double digits in points or goals for the 2023 NHL playoffs. The team leader in points is Yanni Gourde with 9, and Jordan Eberle is tops on the club in goals with four. Sixteen Kraken players have at least one goal during the 2023 postseason.

Seattle goalie Phillip Grubauer has been good enough to keep the Kraken in the games against the Stars, but his numbers are a bit worrying. He has a 3.78 goals against average in this series and an .840 save percentage.

Best bets for Game 4 between Dallas Stars and Seattle Kraken

The Stars are in a similar situation in this series as they were in the first round against Minnesota. Dallas found themselves down 2-1 to Minnesota and coming off a bad 5-1 loss in Game 3. The club rebounded with a 3-2 win in Game 4 and then finished Minnesota with victories in the next two games by scores of 4-0 and 4-1. Expect a bounce-back game from the Stars tonight. With that, the best bet for Game 4 of the 2023 NHL Western Conference playoff series is to pick the Stars to beat the Kraken.

Pick: Dallas Stars to beat Seattle Kraken in Game 4 of the Western Conference Playoffs.
