Florida Panthers +210

The Florida Panthers won the 2024 Stanley Cup. They are one of the betting favorites to win the trophy again in 2025.

The franchise needed all seven matches to finally see off the Edmonton Oilers and win the first Stanley Cup in their history. What made the victory all the more impressive was how they managed to compose themselves to win the seventh match after throwing away a 3-0 lead.

The Cup win came after 2023 heartbreak when Florida went down 4-1 to the Vegas Golden Knights. Paul Maurice and his team clearly learned from that experience and came back stronger 12 months later.

The franchise did lose a few key players after the final, but they kept the majority of their core players with Sam Reinhart and Anton Lundell re-signing for the club. In addition, Florida also added Jesper Boqvist, Tomas Nosek, Nate Schmidt, Adam Boqvist, and Jaycob Megna.

Florida is the +210 favorite to win the Atlantic Division again in 2024. To win the Eastern Conference they are +500, and to retain the Stanley Cup, the Panthers are the sixth favorites at +1100.

Toronto Maple Leafs +220

The Maple Leafs are really competing hard at the top of the Atlantic Division as they go in pursuit of their first-ever title.

The 13-time Stanley Cup winners have never won the division since they joined at the beginning of the 2012/13 season. But this season, the best NHL betting sites are giving them a real chance and have them almost level with the Panthers in the betting.

Everyone at Toronto has felt the weight of history on their shoulders for many years now. Craig Berube is now the latest man charged with the responsibility of returning the franchise to its past glories. Berube was taken on after Sheldon Keefe was fired in May after the club lost 4-3 to the Bruins in the first round of the postseason playoffs.

The Leafs are +550 to win the Eastern Conference and +1000 fourth favorites to finally win that elusive 14th Stanley Cup.

Tampa Bay Lightning +375

Despite reaching the Stanley Cup final in 2020, 2021, and 2022, the Lightning haven’t won the Atlantic Division since the 2018/19 season. That win was their second in succession and marked the beginning of the best run in the club’s history.

After their table-topping season of 2018/19, the Lightning became postseason knockout experts. Under the guidance of Jon Cooper, they learned the art of sneaking into the playoffs under the radar and then coming alive.

The club picked up the Stanley Cup in 2020 and 2021. They were only stopped from completing the hat-trick of wins by a Jared Bednar-inspired Colorado Avalanche in 2023.

Performances have dropped off since 2023. But the Lightning has started the 2024/25 season strongly and it would be foolish to write them off at this early stage.

To win the Eastern Conference, the Lightning is +850. For a third Stanley Cup win in six seasons, Tampa Bay is +1800.

Boston Bruins +450

The Boston Bruins came within a whisker of winning their fourth Atlantic Division in 2024. With the winning line in sight, the Bruins suffered defeats in their final two matches, allowing the Panthers to nip and steal the title.

The Bruins finished with 109 points and a 47-20-15 record.

Of the four teams in the running to win the division in 2025, the Bruins are the outsiders. Boston topped the division twice in the last four contested seasons (2019/20 and 2022/23). They know how to get the job done and can’t be underestimated.

In the betting to win the Eastern Conference, the Bruins are +900. They are +1800 to take home the Stanley Cup.
