- BetOnline has updated NHL player futures with odds on the Norris, Vezina and Jack Adams trophies
- Tampa Bay’s Victor Hedman and Andrei Vasilevskiy are favorites to win the award for the league’s best defenseman and goaltender
- Rod Brind’Amour (-250) is chalk to win Coach of the Year in his third season behind the bench in Carolina
While NHL teams will soon begin competing for the hardest championship trophy to win in all of professional sports, The Stanley Cup, many of the game’s stars seemingly have certain individual awards on lockdown.
Closing in on 100 points despite playing a shortened 56-game season, Connor McDavid is a huge favorite for both the Art Ross Trophy (-50000) and Hart Trophy (-2500) while Austin Matthews (-20000) has the Rocket Richard Trophy locked up with 38 goals and counting.
However, the awards for the league’s best defenseman, goaltender and coach are still up from grabs. Let’s check the latest odds to win the Norris, Vezina and Jack Adams trophies and be sure to check out our NHL betting tips page for tips and advice on how to wager on hockey.
2021 Norris Trophy Odds
Victor Hedman | -125 |
Adam Fox | +325 |
Shea Theodore | +600 |
Charlie McAvoy | +900 |
Cale Makar | +1000 |
Dougie Hamilton | +1200 |
John Carlson | +1400 |
Kris Letang | +2800 |
Hedman favored to win 2nd Norris
After recommending Victor Hedman at a juicy +700 back in February, the Lightning blueliner’s odds have shortened to -125, ahead of the Rangers’ Adam Fox (+325), the Ducks’ Shea Theodore (+600) and Boston’s Charlie McAvoy (+900). As the best defender on the defending Stanley Cup champions, Hedman is a comfortable, easy-to-write-down choice for voters as he has been nominated for the award four times and won it back in 2018.
However, the 30-year-old Swede is not a great value at the moment. Analytics such as net goal differential actually favor Fox, who’s also pacing all NHL defensemen in scoring (47 points) while having a better plus-minus (+20) than Hedman (+7). Go with New York’s sophomore stud at +325.

2021 Vezina Trophy Odds
Andrei Vasilevskiy | -140 |
Marc-Andre Fleury | +250 |
Philipp Grubauer | +500 |
Connor Hellebuyck | +900 |
Semyon Varlamov | +1400 |
Can anyone stop Vasilevskiy?
Andrei Vasilevskiy (-140) is in position to win his second Vezina in the last three seasons. The Lightning netminder’s 30 victories pace the league and his .929 save percentage is second in the NHL among goalies who have played over 30 games.
After removing the sword from his back, 36-year-old Marc-Andre Fleury (+250) is having a vintage season between the pipes for Vegas with a 23-10 record, 2.08 goals-against-average and a .926 save percentage. Philip Grubauer (+500) has been equally impressive in Colorado with the second most wins (27), a sterling save percentage (.920) and the lowest GAA (2.00) among starting tenders. However – bet on Vasilevskiy taking home the award.
2021 Jack Adams Trophy Odds
Rod BrindAmour | -250 |
Peter DeBoer | +400 |
Joel Quenneville | +500 |
Jared Bednar | +600 |
Mike Sullivan | +600 |
Barry Trotz | +1200 |
Peter Laviolette | +1600 |
Top head coaching candidates
Rod “the bod” Brind’Amour is heavy -250 chalk to win the NHL’s Coach of the Year award with his Hurricanes currently holding down first-place in the Central Division, and Carolina’s run to the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals may still be fresh in voters’ minds.
We favor the Canes bench boss over other contenders like the Golden Knights’ Peter DeBoer (+400) and the Panthers’ Joel Quenneville (+500), but keep your eyes out for odds on Minnesota head coach Dean Evason, who’s strangely not listed at BetOnline. Given that no one expected the Wild to be near the top of the West standings with the Cup favorites in Vegas and Colorado, Evason could be rewarded with a Jack Adams Trophy.
