- BetOnline has updated 2021 NHL Awards odds for the Vezina, Calder, and Norris Trophies
- Andrei Vasilevskiy (-170) is a slight favorite to be named the league’s best goaltender over Marc-Andre Fleury (+175)
- Adam Fox is -225 chalk to win top defenseman honors but Victor Hedman (+150) could score the upset
While the Stanley Cup is the only prize that matters to professional hockey players this time of the year, the NHL still has to hand out some of their most prestigious regular-season awards. Once again, there will no glitzy Las Vegas ceremony thanks to Covid, and instead, the Hart, Calder, Norris, and Vezina Trophy winners will all be announced during the Cup Final.
After scoring 105 points, 21 more than any other player, Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has his second-career Hart Trophy wrapped up. And at -5000 to claim the Calder, Kirill “the thrill” Kaprizov will almost certainly win the 2021 Rookie of the Year following an electrifying 27-goal, 24-assist season.
That leaves the prizes for the league’s top goaltender and best defenseman. Let’s look at the latest odds for the Vezina and Norris and make sure to check out our NHL betting tips page for advice on how to wager on hockey.
2021 Vezina Trophy Odds
Andrei Vasilevskiy | -170 |
Marc-Andre Fleury | +175 |
Philipp Grubauer | +500 |
Cup Finals showdown for Vezina finalists?
How important is it to have a great goaltender? Well, in addition to leading the Vezina race, Andrei Vasilevskiy (-170) and Marc-Andre Fleury (+175) also happen to be among the top contenders for the NHL’s Conn Smythe Trophy for Playoff MVP.
The Lightning netminder likely has his second Vezina in the last three seasons on lockdown after pacing the league in wins (31) and finishing top eight in both save percentages (.925) and goals-against-average (2.21). However, the NHL general managers who vote on the award may want to honor the 36-year-old Fleury with his first career Vezina after a spectacular return-to-form season where he finished third in both GAA (1.98) and SV% (.928) with a 26-10-0 record.
Best Bet: Fleury (+175) at BetOnline

2021 Norris Trophy Odds
Adam Fox | -225 |
Victor Hedman | +150 |
Cale Makar | +900 |
Hedman and Fox in a back-and-forth battle
There have been a lot of wild swings in this year’s Norris Trophy race but we’ve had you covered at every point of the season, recommending Victor Hedman at a juicy +700 back in February before abandoning ship in May and telling you to bet on Adam Fox at +325.
The Rangers sophomore blueliner is now a -225 favorite to be named the NHL’s best defenseman while the Lightning’s captain is at +150. Unlike the Vezina, members of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association cast ballots for the Norris – which is important to note as sportswriters are more inclined to give Fox credit for his analytically-sound season than a stodgy GM.

This vote could be close. The 23-year-old Fox edged out Hedman in points (47 to 45), plus-minus (+19 to +5) and some advanced stats like net goal differential, however, the Bolts 30-year-old is a certified stud on the blue line who just won a Conn Smythe.
Best Bet: Hedman at +150 at BetOnline.
