NHL Playoffs Betting: Blackhawks vs Red Wings Game 4 Preview

The Chicago Blackhawks have the main goal to steal a game in Detroit and game four in the series could be the ideal scenario for them.  Game four is Thursday at 7:30 PM ET at Joe Louis Arena.

wings-hawksIn game three, the Wings won the first game for them with the 3-1 result. Detroit mostly played a disciplined match with good defense, few penalties and doing the small things that get you to the next level.

“We haven’t done anything yet,” Mike Babcock said. Babcock won his 77th postseason game, matching Quenneville for the most among active coaches; that’s something.

Detroit won 37 face-offs vs 29 from the Blackhawks, but had 10 shot less than Chicago; it didn’t matter to take the victory to the next level.

“It takes something like this to slap you in the face, so to speak, to really understand what adversity is and how tough the playoffs can be,” Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews said. “A lot of guys in this room have been in tough positions before in the playoffs, and that’s never stopped us. We know this is a long series, and we’re going to be fighting until the end.”

Chicago averages over 3 goals a game, which means they have the power and the talent to take Detroit but if the Red Wings keep playing hard defensive hockey; things will get ugly for the Hawks.

Detroit lost all four games in the regular season against the Hawks, including three matches that ended in overtime or a shootout.
