Ottawa is 29-24-4 this season. They are mid-table in the Atlantic Division with 62 points from 57 matches.
The Senators have a goal differential of -1, scoring 160 and conceding 161. Scoring goals has been the biggest problem for Travis Green’s team. They are one of the lowest scorers in the whole of the Eastern Conference.
Winnipeg is flying at the moment. The Jets are 41-14-3. They sit top of the Central Division with 85 points from 58 matches. They hold a nine-point lead over the Dallas Stars at the top of the table.
The Jets have an enormous goal differential of +70. They have scored 208 times and only conceded 138. Only the Washington Capitals have scored more goals in the NHL this season and the Jets have also conceded fewer goals than any other team.
Wednesday night’s match will be the second time the two teams have met this season. The Jets won the first match 4-2 at the Canada Life Centre in late December. Nikolaj Ehlers scored one and provided two assists for Winnipeg.
Now, let’s see what chance the bookies are giving Ottawa to gain revenge.

Ottawa Senators
Ottawa has a ten-match record of 5-5-0 and is on a losing skid of four. During the ten-match run, they have scored an average of 2.8 goals per game and conceded 2.5 goals.
The four-game skid started with a 4-3 defeat away to the Lightning on February 4th. The defeat ended a four-match winning streak.
A second defeat at the Lightning followed, this time Travis Green’s men lost 5-1. Further pain in Florida was to come, with a 5-1 defeat at the Panthers in Ottawa’s final match before the midseason break.
Since the resumption, it’s played one, and lost one, with Ottawa losing 5-2 at home to the Canadiens on Saturday.
The Senators are +5500 to win the Atlantic Division. That leaves them fourth in the betting, and it’s a distant fourth.
Ottawa is +2500 to win the Eastern Conference and +5000 to win the Stanley Cup.
Following the match with the Jets, Ottawa will host the Sharks on Saturday.
Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets have a 10-0 record in their previous ten matches. Over the ten fixtures, they have scored an average of four goals per game and conceded two.
Winnipeg has played two matches since the midseason break. A shootout was needed to defeat the Blues on Saturday, with Gabriel Vilardi scoring an equalizer at 19:32 of the third period to preserve Winnpeg’s unbeaten run.
That was followed by a 2-1 win over the San Jose Sharks on Monday night. The Jets needed overtime to secure the victory. Mark Scheifele scored the all-important goal 1:33 into overtime.
The Jets are -650 to win the Central Division. Dallas is second at +400. Winnipeg is the +400 second favorite to win the Western Conference (Edmonton leads the betting at +300) and the +750 second-favorite to win the 2025 Stanley Cup.
The Jets have a busy schedule over the next few days. Following the match with Ottawa, they head to Nashville to face the Predators on Thursday and are then back at home against the Flyers on Saturday.
Ottawa Senators vs. Winnipeg Jets Picks and Predictions
The Senators are 16-8-2 at home, and the Jets are 18-9-0 on the road.
Regardless of the respective home and away form of the two sides, one team is on an unbelievable run of wins, while the other is struggling.
We have to go for the Jets to win. They even have more wins on the road than the Senators have at home.
Given the form of the two teams, we are recommending a bet on the puck line for better odds. Yes, the Jets haven’t been convincing in their last two wins. But the Senators have been spanked in their previous three defeats.
Our betting pick is the Jets to win at +190 on the puck line.
