Manchester City (-125) vs. Manchester United (+320) (Draw +275)
In the tenth fixture of the Barclays Premier League, crosstown rivals Manchester United and Manchester City will meet on Sunday at Etihad Stadium (8:30 a.m. Eastern).
This will be the 150th edition of the Manchester Derby, and the Red Devils lead the series with 59 wins versus Man City’s 42. However, the Sky Blues have shown better form this season, and City is the favorite to win, listed at -125 in the money line. United is +320 and the draw is +275.
City arrives at the Derby sitting third in the BPL table with 17 points (5W, 2D, 2L) and a +5 goal difference. Though City lost its last match against West Ham (2-1).
According to left back and French international Gael Clichy, Sunday’s game against Man. U will be special, as the Red Devils have some new faces this season, including strikers Radamel Falcao and Angel Di María, plus first-year coach Louis van Gaal.
“This year is going to be special because they have a new manager and it’s a team that needs to get points to prove to people that they are still there,” he said. “Playing against great players is what we want as a football player. It’s going to be a really good game and hopefully we can get the three points.”
On the other side, Louis Van Gaal’s squad is off to a very mediocre start, though they are showing signs of improvement. In its last six, Man. U has three wins, two draws, and one defeat. After nine completed fixtures, United is in the middle of the Premier League pack, sitting eighth with 13 points (3W, 4D, 2L) and a +3 differential.
Though United is sure to be up for the game, City is at home and has looked like the better team so far this season; bet City to win.
