PSG vs City Betting Picks
Yes, the two betting favorites – PSG and Man City – meet at the Parc des Princes in the most mouth-watering match-up of this season’s Champions League so far.
All 32 teams from the eight groups are in action across the two nights. And already there are some massive clashes in-store with consequences for some big names at this early stage of the competition.
Defeat for PSG at home to Manchester City will leave the Parisians with just 1 point from two matches. PSG only managed a disappointing 1-1 draw with Club Brugge in their opening match.
Domestically, Pochettino’s men are top of Ligue 1 with a 100% record. So that should ensure the pressure on the Argentine’s shoulders won’t be too great should they fail to beat Pep’s City side.
United vs Villarreal Predictions
The same can’t be said of Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. In the Norwegians time at Old Trafford, his record in Europe hasn’t been great.
His United side lost their opening Champions League match 2-1 away at BSC Young Boys of Bern.
Then last Saturday, United suffered a blow domestically, losing 1-0 at home to Aston Villa. Anything but a win for United over Villarreal on Wednesday will see the pressure ramp up intensely on Solskjaer.

In betting to win the Champions League, Ole’s Manchester United side is +1200 to lift the trophy.
Favorites with BetUS are both PSG and Man City at +400.
Depending on which sportsbook you use, the favorites differ.
Some now have Pep’s City side as their outright favorites. Especially since they beat Premier League title rivals Chelsea 1-0 in their backyard last Saturday.
German giants Bayern Munich are third in the betting at +550. The 2020 winners are quietly going about their business beneath the radar.
All the talk seems to be about Messi and Neymar at PSG and the English quartet. With the German’s going seemingly unnoticed.
Anyway, it’s now time to look at this week’s fixtures and find some Champions League betting picks.
RB Leipzig v Club Brugge
- Venue – Red Bull Arena, Leipzig, Germany
- Date – 28th September 2021
- Time – 3pm ET
I’m going to start in Group A, but it’s not with PSG and Man City. Instead, I’m looking at RB Leipzig of the German Bundesliga.
Since being thrashed 4-1 domestically by Bayern Munich and 6-3 in the Champions League by Man City, Jesse Marsch’s team has staged what can only be called a tentative mini-revival.
Yes, in the proceeding two matches (since the thrashings), they have drawn 1-1 away at Koln, and then on Saturday, they thumped Hertha Berlin 6-0 at the Red Bull Arena.
Leipzig has struggled so far this season. But they are now starting to show signs of a revival. They are also scoring goals again, and the three scored against City at the Etihad show they can do it against top-class opposition.
As for Club Brugge, they sit top of the Belgian Pro League with 18 points from nine matches.
Brugge has scored in all nine domestic league matches, and against PSG in the Champions League.
I did consider going for a win for Leipzig. But the thing putting me off is they may still be a touch fragile after their troubled start to the season. And also, the form – and goals – of Brugge.
So for this reason, my first Champions League pick this week is Both Teams To Score in the match between RB Leipzig and Club Brugge.
Bayern Munich v Dynamo Kyiv
For my second pick of the week, I’m staying in Germany and looking at Bayern Munich’s match against Dynamo Kyiv.
- Venue – Allianz Arena, München, Germany
- Date – 29th September 2021
- Time – 3pm ET
There’s an annual Beer Festival in Munich around this time of the year called Oktoberfest. But every week these days, Munich matches seem to be goal fests!
Recent Bayern results read 3-1 win away to Furth, 7-0 home win over Bochum, 3-0 away win over Barcelona (Champions League), 4-1 away win over RB Leipzig, 5-0 home win over Hertha Berlin.
Before those five matches, there was the small matter of a German Cup win over poor Bremer SV. Just 12-0 (yes, twelve-nil).
Bayern matches are full of goals at the moment.
Kyiv isn’t in bad form either. They sit on top of the Ukrainian Premier League after nine matches. So far this season, Kyiv has won eight and drawn one.
In their only Champions League match to date, they drew 0-0 at home to Benfica.
But the Ukrainian defense will have come up against nothing like the goal-scoring machine that is Bayern Munich.
I can see a landslide victory here. I wouldn’t be against going over 4.5 goals or even over 5.5 goals in this match.
But to play it safe and keep things in perspective, over 3.5 goals in Bayern Munich v Dynamo Kyiv is my second Champions League pick of the week.
