Barcelona (-1600) vs. Cordoba (+2200) (+1200)
Barcelona will play their last game of the year next Saturday, December 20, against Cordoba CF in the 16th fixture of the Spain’s La Liga at Camp Nou (10:00 a.m. Eastern).
Los Blaugranas are the heavy favorites in the moneyline, listed at -1600 in the odds, while Cordoba is a huge dog, sitting at +2200. The draw will also pay at a handsome +1200.
In the standings, Barcelona is fighting for the title, currently sitting second behind Real Madrid with 35 points (11-2-2) and a +29 goal differential. In contrast, Cordoba is just hoping to avoid relegation; they are 17th in the table league with only 11 points (1-8-6) and a -11 differential.
After thrashing Huesca, 8-1, last Wednesday in the second leg of the Copa del Rey, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique praised the team attitude and mentality.
“It’s hard to imagine a game better than this,” said the coach, who emphasized the “mentality, attitude and defense” his players showed on Tuesday night.
These two sides have only met at the Copa del Rey before, and Barcelona has won both meetings by a combined score of 7-0. Barcelona is also riding an impressive 5-0-1 streak in all-competitions, outscoring opponents 21-3.
