Real Madrid (-1200) vs. Celta de Vigo (+1600) (Draw +1100)
After demolishing Cornella 5-0 in the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid will try to extend their unprecedented, all-competitions winning streak to 18 games tomorrow (Saturday, December 6) at the Santiago Bernabeu at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. Their next victim is Celta de Vigo in the 14th fixture of Spain’s La Liga.
“Los Blancos” are the heavy favorites to win, listed at -1200 in the odds, while Celta de Vigo is at +1600 and the draw +1100.
Celta and Real have met 30 times in La Liga competition. Real Madrid dominates the series with 17 wins, ten losses, and three draws. “Los Merengues” have also won four of their last five league meetings with Celta. However, Celta took the most recent meeting at the Balaidos last season, 2-0.
Real Madrid is on top of the La Liga table this year with 33 points (11W, 0D, 2L) and an amazing +36 goal differential. Ballon d’Or finalist Cristiano Ronaldo leads the league with 20 goals. Ronaldo has performed well against Celta in the past, scoring five of Real Madrid’s last six league goals against the Galicians.
Meanwhile, Celta de Vigo will fight tooth-and-nail for at least a point on Saturday. On paper, it looks like an impossible task since Celta have failed to score in the last three consecutive league games. Despite their recent goalless drought, Celta are in a respectable eighth place in the table with 20 points (5W, 3D, 3L) and +4 in the differential.
