Napoli Offer Value in Serie A

Napoli offer the best value in the Serie A winners market with only seven games to go.

Who do Bettors Favor?

Checking out the best rated sportsbook sites we can see that bookmakers are still big on Internazionale who can be backed at -225 to win Serie A, despite the fact that they are no longer top of the table. The current league leaders Milan are rated as high as +400 and Napoli, who have been in and around the top three for most of the season are priced at +450, with Juventus considered the best of the rest at +5000.

Betting on the Serie A Winner

Inter are fighting hard to retain their title and are still in a relatively strong position. Simone Inzaghi’s team, who have impressed with the quality of their football, are two points behind their city rivals but have a game in hand. That has been enough for bookmakers to stick with Inter, but there are some worrying signs for their fans that should encourage both Milan and Napoli.

Going into the spring, Inter had built up a 15-game unbeaten run but they have been unable to sustain that level of consistency and in fact have only won three of their last nine. At this point, the odds on an Inter league win look a little too short and it is worth considering both of their rivals.

Milan are currently in the lead, but Inter are close behind them while Napoli are only two points adrift. Worryingly for Milan, they have by far the toughest run-in of the three teams, which sees them take on Lazio, Atalanta and Fiorentina before the end of the season. Napoli’s defeat against Fiorentina at the weekend was a disappointing result, but they are still firmly in the hunt and with the longest odds of the three title contenders, remain the best bet.

Betting on the Serie A Top Four

The race for a top-four spot has become a lot less competitive in recent weeks as Juventus have maintained a degree of consistency and their main rivals have fallen away. The decline of Atalanta in particular has made things easier for Juve. At one point, Atalanta were a solid top four side but three wins in twelve games has cost them dearly and they are now down in eighth position, way off the pace.

Roma and Lazio have more realistic claims on a top-four spot, although both have some work to do if they are to catch Juve. Lazio have won four of their last five, while Roma – who prevailed in a tense Rome derby before the international break – are also heading in the right direction.

The problem for both teams is that Juventus are not showing any signs of weakness. In fact, they are probably the form team in Italian football, having lost only once since the end of November. They have a healthy five-point lead over Roma and I can’t see them losing it.

Serie A Relegation Betting

At the other end of the table, it is hard to make a case for bottom of the league Salernitana. Although they have two games in hand over most of their rivals, they need to close a nine-point gap over the remaining eight games of their schedule and there is no evidence that they have the ability to do so.

One place above them, Genoa are also in trouble, having won only two games all season and although they can point to a remarkable tally of 16 draws, underlining how hard they are to beat, they need wins now if they are to escape relegation.

The other two teams embroiled in the relegation struggle, Venezia and Calgiari, are also woefully out of form. Cagliari have lost five in a row, while Venezia have failed to win any of their last six. The two are set to meet on the last day of the season, and have an identical goal difference, so Cagliari’s current three-point advantage doesn’t look that impressive and they could be worth a bet here.

Which Player will win the Golden Boot?

The race for the Golden Boot in Serie A looks like a straight contest between Ciro Immobile and Dusan Vlahovic. When Vlahovic signed for Juventus in the January window, he seemed to have a great chance to dominate this market, but Immobile’s experience has helped him to fend off his rival, despite the fact that he is playing for Lazio, a poorer team on paper. Still, the Juventus striker is only two goals off the pace, and there is still time for him to catch up, so he appears to offer the best value in this market.
