Road to Euro 2016 – Germany vs. Gibraltar Odds

Germany (-10000) vs. Gibraltar (+20000) (Draw +4000)

In Euro 2016 qualifying, Germany has taken only one of the last six points available in Group D. Next Friday, November 14, the Germans need a win against Gibraltar in order to get back on track. The kick-off will be at 2:45 p.m. Eastern in the Grundig Stadium in Nuremberg, Germany.

On the paper, the Germans should have no problem prevailing over miniscule Gibraltar, which boasts only a handful of professional soccer players on its squad. In the moneyline, Germany is the heavy favorite to win, listed at -10000. A Gibraltar victory not only would shock the entire world, but also could make you rich, paying out at +20000. (The draw is listed at +4000, currently.)

This will be the first meeting between Germany and Gibraltar in any UEFA Competition. Unfortunately for Gibraltar, the World Cup champs will come in with a sense of urgency, having lost to Poland (2-0) and drawn Ireland (1-1) in their last two qualifiers. Germany is currently third in Group D with four points after three games (behind both Poland and Ireland, who are on seven points). Only the top two teams from the group will directly qualify for the tournament.

“We have always had pressure; it doesn’t matter if we are world champions or not. As Germany, you always have the pressure of having to win,” said the Germany’s head coach, Joachim Löw, after drawing at home against Ireland. “Of course, we had expected to have more points coming out of October. But we will win against Gibraltar,” promised Löw.

On the other side of the field, Gibraltar is an amateur team and will be overmatched in virtually every game they play. Through three games, the tiny nation has zero points, no goals for, and a -17 goal differential.
