The battle for qualification spots to the end-of-season playoffs continues with the latest round of MLS betting fixtures today.
There’s a further 11 fixtures tonight, and with there still six playoff spaces in the Eastern Conference and four in the Western Conference, up for grabs, there’s plenty left to play for. For context for this pick, check out our soccer betting guide.
New England the Stand Out MLS Team
So far only the New England Revolution has qualified from the Eastern Conference.
Bruce Arena’s team has run away with the league and is a massive 21 points ahead of second-placed Philadelphia.
While in the Western Conference, Seattle Sounders, Kansas City, and Colorado have all qualified for the playoffs.
MLS Cup 2021 Betting
Despite dominating their conference, the Revolution still has the Sounders for company in the betting to win the MLS Cup.
The two teams are joint favorites with the best online sportsbooks, both at around the +400 mark – depending on who you are betting with.

New England Revolution v Colorado Rapids
- Revolution -140
- Draw +300
- Colorado +360
The Revolution doesn’t need to win this game, but they probably will.
Even though we’ve seen teams like Seattle take their foot off the gas since clinching a playoff spot, the same can’t be said for Bruce Arena’s team.
- Match – New England Revolution v Colorado Rapids | MLS Eastern Conference
- Venue – Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA
- Date – October 27th, 2021
- Time – 7pm ET
Sports history is littered with sides who ease up when the job is done in one competition, expecting to be able to switch on when the next competition starts and finding out it’s not that simple.
How many times have you seen a team ease off in the league as they have won it, and then find it’s not so easy to flick the switch and turn the performance level back up again to play an end-of-season cup final!
New England doesn’t seem to be falling into that trap. They just seem to keep on going. It’s like it’s the only way they know how to play!
Colorado could also be a playoff opponent for New England at some stage, so why not beat them and put down a marker!
New England has had three draws in their last seven outings though, including a 2-2 draw away at Orlando last weekend.
In that match they surrendered the possession a bit, only having 41%. They also had fewer attempts on goal. Orlando had 15 attempts with five on target, while New England, 13 attempts, with three on target.
Bruce Arena’s team did also need two very late goals to get them a share of the points. MLS player of the Week, Adam Buska scored after 81 minutes to pull the match back to 2-1, before hitting the equalizer after 3 minutes of stoppage time.
You can't stop him, you can only seek to contain him.

I think New England will win this, and at -140 with BetUS are good value.
If you are a bit concerned by the Revs’ form in that last match though, I can understand that. Maybe the safer bet might be over 2.5 goals at -175.
In all of New England’s last six matches, over 2.5 goals have won.
Both teams have scored in all their last eight matches as well, showing that maybe the defense maybe isn’t quite where it should be at the moment, making goals a good value bet!
FC Dallas v Real Salt Lake
- Dallas +105
- Draw +280
- Salt Lake +240
Another team I’m finding intriguing to follow lately is Real Salt Lake.
They have a decent outside chance of making the playoffs, and they will be hoping to pick up some points when they head to the Toyota Stadium to play Dallas on Wednesday.
- Match – FC Dallas v Salt Lake City | MLS Western Conference
- Venue – Toyota Stadium, Frisco, Texas, US
- Date – October 27th, 2021
- Time – 8pm ET
FC Dallas hasn’t had a great season and has already been eliminated from the playoffs. Only Austin has a worse record in the Western section.
I don’t think the +105 available from Bovada on the Moneyline for Dallas is great value.
As for Salt Lake, they sit just outside the playoffs on 42 points, just 2 points away from getting into the top 7.
This is a match that Salt Lake has to be winning if they are serious about extending their season.
The problem for Salt Lake is their leaky defense. In their last 12 matches, they have kept only one clean sheet, remarkably that was against Seattle Sounders.
More recently, they have conceded in their last five straight. They have also scored in four of those five matches, and I expect them to find the back of the net against a struggling Dallas side.
For their part, Dallas has conceded in 12 of their last 13 fixtures. They’ve also seen Both Teams To Score win nine times in their last 11 matches.
In their most recent fixture, The Toros drew 2-2 away to LA Galaxy. They had 12 attempts on goal, with eight on target. Showing they are at the very least attempting to play some attacking soccer in what remains of the season.
As I can’t see either side keeping a clean sheet, Both Teams To Score at -175 in my MLS pick for this fixture.
