Jannik Sinner

Sinner has been dominating nearly every opponent, except for the dynamic Spaniard he bested at Wimbledon. Between them, Sinner and Alcaraz have captured the last seven Grand Slam titles, with Sinner winning three of the past four.

The only major Sinner missed during this run was the French Open, which Alcaraz claimed after rallying from two sets down.

Since the start of 2024, Sinner has taken four of seven Grand Slam titles, with his only slip-up being a quarterfinal loss at Wimbledon last year. His +100 odds here are a testament to his recent dominance.

I’m concerned about his recent illness in Cincinnati, will he have enough time to recover for the season’s final major?

I don’t understand the sportsbooks favoring Sinner in this tournament again. I’m going to fade him here and would avoid betting on him at these odds.

Carlos Alcaraz

Alcaraz arrives in New York riding high after claiming his third straight Masters 1000 title, and recent history suggests Cincinnati Open winners often find further success at the US Open.

In fact, three of the last six men’s champions in Cincinnati—including the last two—have gone on to win in Flushing Meadows just weeks later.

The 22-year-old Spaniard captured his first Grand Slam title in New York three years ago and reached the semifinals the following year.

While his exact US Open draw will be revealed later this week, he won’t face Sinner unless both reach the final. Notably, Sinner appeared visibly unwell when he retired in the Cincinnati final while trailing Alcaraz 5-0 in the first set.

Alcaraz now leads their head-to-head, having won six of their last seven encounters—including the last three on hard courts.

Alcaraz is the play in this tournament. He should be favored, getting +150 is tremendous value that you should not wait on betting.

Novak Djokovic

The value on a legend like Novak Djokovic at these odds is remarkable. While he hasn’t given bettors much reason to invest heavily this year, he’s still considered the GOAT.

At 38, Djokovic hasn’t won a Grand Slam since 2023—which could turn into a two-year drought if he doesn’t break through soon. His road to the title won’t be easy, likely requiring wins over both Alcaraz and Sinner.

The US Open has been a successful venue for Djokovic, with four titles to his name, though his last victory here was in 2023—his first since 2018.

Despite some setbacks, Djokovic’s 2025 season has included a strong Australian Open run (cut short by injury), a title in Geneva, and semifinal appearances at the last two majors.

However, recent encounters with Sinner haven’t gone his way, and that could be the case again in New York. Still, passing up Djokovic at +1400 odds seems unwise.

Ben Shelton

Ben Shelton has made impressive strides this season, highlighted by his recent breakthrough in Toronto.

He also delivered a strong showing at Wimbledon, falling to Sinner in straight sets—a challenge no one else could solve either.

Shelton has reached the quarterfinals in three straight tournaments and the semifinals in his last two. His confidence is rising, especially on hard courts, where he holds a strong 21-7 record and is 35-17 overall in 2025.

Given his recent momentum and +2000 odds, consider placing a small wager on Shelton now while the value remains.
