Aryna Sabalenka favored to win 1st Wimbledon women’s singles title

  • Aryna Sabalenka (+333) is favored to take home her first Wimbledon women’s singles championship
  • Coco Gauff (+900) captured her second Grand Slam title at the French Open
  • The All England Club hosts the prestigious grass court tournament from June 30 to July 13, 2025

Aryna Sabalenka is still looking for her first major championship of the season after falling in the Australian Open and French Open finals. The world No. 1 has never won at the All England Club. But that could almost be an advantage as no woman has won multiple Wimbledon titles since Serena Williams,

Sabalenka favored

Aryna Sabalenka (+333) advanced to the semifinals in her last two Wimbledon outings (2021, 2023), but missed the event in both 2022 and 2024. She’s still looking for her fourth Grand Slam title after runner-up finishes in the year’s first two majors.

The world No. 1’s game is well suited for grass and she’s played good tennis all year. Sabalenka is coming off a loss to Marketa Vondrousova in the Berlin semifinals.

Swiatek or Rybakina?

Iga Swiatek (+500) has never even made the semifinals at Wimbledon. The former world No. 1 also hasn’t reached a final at any tournament in over a year. While she has five major titles, four of those Grand Slams came at the French Open.

Elena Rybakina (+500) captured the 2022 Wimbledon title and made the semifinals last year. She has a 19-3 career record at the All England Club. In her grass season tune-ups, the no. 11 seed lost in the quarterfinals at both Queen’s Club and Berlin.

Gauff goes for another

Coco Gauff (+900) has yet to advance past the fourth round in five appearances at the All England Club. However, the 21-year-old’s confidence should be sky-high after claiming her second Grand Slam title at the French Open.

Best Longshots

Madison Keys (+2800) hasn’t been past the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. The 30-year-old American reached the semifinals at Queen’s Club, losing to eventual champion Tatjana Maria. And while she was ousted in the first round in Berlin, she lost a close match (7-5, 7-6) to Marketa Vondrousova, who also went on to win the tournament. Nine-time Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova recenly named her “the third favorite to win the tournament” after Sabalenka and Gauff.

Marketa Vondrousova (+4000) became the first defending women’s singles champion in 30 years to be eliminated in the first round of Wimbledon last year. However, the Olympic silver medalist has returned to form following shoulder surgery. She defeated both Sabalenka and Keys en route to her Berlin Open title last week.
