Erin Blanchfield’s five-round loss to Fiorot slowed her progress. Up until that contest, Blanchfield had been able to dictate all aspects of her previous UFC outings. According to MMA Fighting, “They suspect she may have contracted Streptococcus pyogenes, a serious form of strep throat, and a staph infection. She also contracted pneumonia, and her blood pressure dropped to dangerous levels.”
Barber was set to face Rose Namajunas in July 2024, but she was forced from that event when she found she did not have the strength or energy to train for that contest properly.
