Jalin Turner is a good boxer. He likes to fight at range, but he also moves forward when he needs to employ his striking techniques. He is tall at 6-foot-3 and he uses his length and reach well. Turner has a two-inch reach advantage in this fight. While Turner is a striker by trade, he is unafraid to employ his grappling game. A brown belt in jiu jitsu, Turner has picked up three of his past six wins, all with the UFC, via submission. His other three victories during that stretch came via knockout. Of Turner’s UFC fights that went the distance, of which there have been three, he has lost two of those via split decision and the other by unanimous decision.
Turner made an enormous mistake in the Moicano fight. It appeared that he had the fight finished by strikes, but he walked away before the referee had waved off the fight, allowing Moicano to recover and come back to get the finish himself. Turner will be looking to erase that memory at UFC 313.
Turner lands 5.60 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy of 48 percent. His striking defense is 41 percent, and he absorbs 4.57 strikes per minute. Turner averages 0.79 takedowns per 15 minutes with a success rate of 55 percent. His takedown defense is 74 percent.

Like his opponent at UFC 313, Ignacio Bahamondes is a lanky 6-foot-3 striker. He uses his length well, throwing a lot of strikes with a decent amount of power, picking up 11 career knockouts, with three of his five UFC victories coming via stoppages from strikes, including his two wins in 2024, both of which came in the first round and earned him “Performance of the Night” bonuses. He is solid defensively with good footwork and excellent head movement. While Bahamondes has good takedown defense, he has yet to land a takedown in the UFC, going 0-for-5.
This is, without a doubt, the biggest test of Bahamondes’ UFC career.

In fact, the expectation is that Turner will continue to slip and become a bigger underdog. My theory is that people are looking too much at Turner’s record of three losses in his past four fights. Those losses, in addition to the Moicano mistake, are split decisions to excellent fighters Dan Hooker and Mateusz Gamrot, both of whom are much more established than Bahamondes.
