UFC 144 gives Quinton “Rampage” Jackson(32-9, 7-3 UFC) another opportunity to redeem himself as he takes on Ryan Bader (13-2, 6-2 UFC) in what should be a great fight night, this Sunday at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
The betting lines have Rampage Jackson-260 vs. Ryan Bader +200.
Jackson was a good rival for the champions Jon Jones, but he was also exposed in several parts of the fight. Rampage will face a similar fighter in Bader, in fact, I think both are strong enough to send the other to the ground, but also strong enough take some hits.
The difference in the fight will be whoever survives the standup exchanges; that’s for sure. Of course you know Rampage; he just can’t his mouth shut “I couldn’t give a rat’s ass if I beat Ryan Bader or not, I just want to put on the best show the world has ever seen,” he said recently as part of a quote that made the rounds in the MMA world.
“I never claimed to be a martial artist or a guy who’s good at everything,” he continued. “I’m a street fighter. There’s a lot of things I don’t care about. I don’t care to know what my opponent’s doing, I don’t care to know his skills or stuff like that, because I’m a brawler. You know, a street fight you just walk up to the guy and start a fight; you ain’t got no tape on this guy.
Bader won his last fight, scoring a knockout punch at 1:17 of the first round against Jason Brilz at UFC 139. He knows one of his punches can end it all.
My pick: Jackson -260.
