Former Bellator Middleweight Champion, Hector Lombard, is the solid favorite to win at UFC 149 over current champion, Tim Boetsch, this Saturday July 21st at Calgary, Alberta, Canada, at the Scotiabank Saddledome, despite this being Lombard’s debut in a UFC match.
Lombard is listed -300 for his octagon inauguration, but don’t think he is inexperienced – in fact, he is anything but that. Hector has been fighting since 2004 and has 35 fights under his belt, plus he’s also currently on a ridiculous winning streak.
MMA business people say that if Lombard beats Boetsch easily; the next in line will be Anderson Silva, the greatest fighter in UFC’s history. It could be a match for the ages, but he needs to get rid of Boetsch first.
Lombards has a double Black Belt skills (Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), plus, a phenomenal team surrounding him (American Top Team).
Tim Boetsch (15-4) listed as the underdog with +220 in the odds, has won its last three fights in a row, including a technical knockout (TKO) win over former 185-pound number one contender Yushin Okami.
Boetsch will be good enough to give Lombards’s the right amount of hazing on his first fight in the UFC, but to think of win, it’s out the question.
Hector Lombard is an all-around fighter that could beat you in both standing and on the ground. He mixes up his submissions better than most of the current UFC fighters; he is quick, and if you give him enough room, he will turn the lights off with his KO power.
