The USA national team is in action later this week, and they will be looking to build on last month’s 4-1 win over Honduras when they meet Jamaica in Texas on Wednesday.
The match is a FIFA world cup qualifier, and with the USA having dropped 4 points already in this qualifying campaign, they won’t want any more slip-ups.
The venue is the Q2 Stadium in Austin and the fixture is the first of a triple-header for Gregg Berhalter’s team as they attempt to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar betting.

USA v Jamaica Betting Odds
BetUS make the USA their betting favorites to win this one. The Stars and Stripes is expected to win comfortably, and odds of -333 on the Moneyline backs that theory up.

The draw is next favorite at +400, with a win for the Reggae Boyz at +850.
The USA was dealt a huge blow with star players Christian Pulisic and Giovanni Reyna missing out on the 27 man roster due to injury.
That hasn’t been helped by Tim Ream having to withdraw. The Fulham defender has been replaced by Walker Zimmerman of Nashville.
As for the Jamaicans, they have named a 23 man squad which includes English-based Bobby Reid and the in-form Michail Antonio.
West Ham striker, Antonio has been in red hot form for the Hammers this season and is a player the USA will have to keep a close eye on.
In their last world cup qualifier, the USA had to come from behind to beat Honduras 4-1.
Trailing 1-0 at half-time second-half goals from Antonee Robinson, Ricardo Pepe, Brenden Aaronson, and Sebastian Lletget turned the match on its head.
The scoreline doesn’t tell the whole story though, as Honduras had the better of the play. The hosts had 18 shots on goal and 53% possession, with the Stars and Stripes managing 12 shots on goals and 47% possession.
The telling stat is shots on target though. Honduras managed only three, with the States hitting the target eight times. Showing that Gregg Berhalter’s team is far more clinical in front of goal.
Before that overdue win, the USA had only managed two draws in their previous two world cup qualifiers.
They drew 0-0 away with El Salvador in match 1 and followed that up with a 1-1 draw at home to Canada in their second qualifying match-up.
The Reggae Boyz have had a torrid start to their world cup qualifying campaign.
They currently sit on the bottom of the qualifying group with 1 point from three matches.
In their opening match of the group, they lost 2-1 to Mexico. They then followed that up with a disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Panama, before securing their first point in their last outing, a 1-1 draw away to Costa Rica.
By most accounts, Jamaica was second-best in the draw with Costa Rica. They only had 42% possession. They also managed 11 shots on goal, with just two on target.
As for Costa Rica, they had 58% possession, with 14 attempts on goal, seven of them on target.
USA v Jamaica Betting Picks
Jamaica’s stats from their last match suggests they will adopt defensive tactics when the two sides meet.
This is further backed up when you look at the stats from when the USA and Jamaica met in the CONCACAF Gold Cup back in July this year.
On that day the USA dominated possession with 68%. But shots on goal weren’t so one-sided. The USA had 11 shots, with five on target. Jamaica had nine shots, with five on target.
On this occasion, I suspect Jamaica will be happy with a draw, and I think they will keep things tight.
And after two draws in their opening two matches, the pressure will be the Stars and Stripes in a match they are expected to win.
This all points to a cagey and nervy affair, so I’m going to go with Under 2.5 Goals at +100 as my first betting pick.
USA v Jamaica Who Will Win?
For my second soccer betting pick, I’m going to look at the match-winner market.
The previous meeting between these two sides was a knock-out match. So no one wanted to make a mistake, resulting in a tight match.
Yes, it will probably be a similar thing this week, but for different reasons.
As alluded to above, the USA will be feeling the pressure with all the expectancy on them. While Jamaica will be happy with a point.
If the USA can be anything like as clinical in this match as they were against Honduras, then I expect them to create enough chances to maybe win 1-0 or 2-0.
Therefore my betting pick for who will win the match is the USA at -333.
