Ohio Posted Its Second Best Sports Betting Month in October

Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but Ohio Sports betting news keeps on being incredibly positive. Ever since things were launched, people haven’t wasted any time putting money down on their favorite teams. Over the summer, we saw a spike in the betting handle and things have stayed hot this fall. Such was the case not long ago, as Ohio posted its second best sports betting month in October. This is a major accomplishment and one that people are celebrating.

According to a report, Ohio posted a sports betting handle of $748 million, indeed the No. 2 highest figure they’ve ever posted. October was always expected to be a great month for the state, as there were plenty of different big-time sporting events going on. This included the NFL betting season being in full swing, plus the Major League Baseball playoffs. While football is king in the fall, people love baseball all over Ohio.

Despite the Indians and Reds not going on any kind of a postseason push, this didn’t take away from the fact that people were tuned into the playoffs from start to finish. While the Dodgers and Braves had the best World Series betting odds, the Texas Rangers were the ones to go on and win the Fall Classic. Who in the world saw that coming? Now, people can’t wait for the new season to start.

Outside of baseball, October was surely great for both NFL and NCAAF betting. Right now, plenty of people are focused on Ohio State and their chances of making the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes lost to Michigan last weekend and now they’re going to need a lot of help to try and sneak in. If they do, you better believe that people are going to be betting a lot of money on the Buckeyes in the coming weeks.

Bengals betting hasn’t been impacted by Joe Burrow’s injury

In some positive news for the state, Bengals betting hasn’t been impacted by Joe Burrow’s injury. Due to a wrist injury, it was recently announced that Burrow is going to be out for the rest of the season. This obviously has a negative impact on Cincy’s Super Bowl betting odds, but people are still putting a lot of money down each weekend on the AFC North team. The offense is a big reason for that.

Despite Burrow being a star quarterback, the Bengals also have star running back Joe Mixon and playmaker Ja’Marr Chase on the outside at wide receiver. Mixon, when healthy, is one of the best running backs in the AFC. With Jake Browning taking over as the starting quarterback, the Bengals offense is surely going to rely on the ground game, with Mixon needed to step his game up.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Mixon get 20-25 carries per game moving forward. Browning has struggled running the offense and the Bengals can’t depend on him to throw the same kind of way that Burrow did when he had the ball in his hands. It will be on Mixon and Chase to try and help Browning out. Despite this team’s potential being up in the air, people are still betting big on the squad.

This Monday night, the Bengals will be taking on the Jaguars and while Jacksonville and Trevor Lawrence will be the favorites to come out on top, that doesn’t mean that people in the state don’t believe that an upset will be on the way. If the Bengals can pull off a win, then it will give the team’s supporters some hope that they’ll be able to keep the dream of reaching the postseason alive.

High betting numbers are expected in Ohio this winter

We’re still a few weeks from saying goodbye to the fall season, but it’s safe to say that high betting numbers are expected in Ohio this winter. Yes, the College Football Playoff is something that people are quite excited about, but with the NBA season here, yes, we don’t have to tell you that NBA betting is going to be through the roof in the coming months too.

Despite LeBron James leaving town to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Cleveland Cavaliers still have a lot of focus around the state for sports fans. The Cavs have a ton of young talent too and they’re trying to move forward with the rebuild. That process has taken a bit longer than expected, but there’s promise for the team.

Elsewhere in the NBA, the Bucks, Lakers, Warriors and others are hoping to push for an NBA Finals title. Leading up to next spring, we’re going to see a lot of people in Ohio put money down on the Cavs and other squads too. The hope is that Cleveland will be able to stun some people and post some big wins in the future. Let’s see how they can do in some primetime Eastern Conference showdowns too. Who knows, maybe Cleveland can make their way to the postseason too.
