Best Boxing Sportsbooks in 2024

Best Boxing Sportsbooks in 2024

With boxing cards almost every weekend, bettors will have no shortage of gambling opportunities in the sport. But they’re just that, opportunities, until you decide to seize on them — which in this case, means staking a wager at a top boxing betting site. While almost every online sportsbook worth its salt carries boxing betting, we think the bookies listed underneath are the “pound for pound” best due to a host of different features.

BetOnline Has The Top Betting Lines For Boxing

If you’re a bettor that strictly cares about betting lines — and only betting lines — then BetOnline will be more up your alley. This site wins with its sportsbooks menu, both in quantity and quality.

Perhaps most importantly, BetOnline’s betting prices are hard to beat, at least in the offshore market. By that, we mean the actual value of the betting line itself. Say for instance that Devin Haney is fighting next. You might see his moneyline to win at -170 at competing sites, but at BetOnline, those odds are something like -160 instead. The -10 difference is not a small one — especially over the long haul. This is just a rough idea, but it’s common to find the best betting value on BetOnline.

Betonline boxing betting

BetOnline’s boxing betting menu offers the full gamut of bets on the sport, whether it’s a TV fight card or something shown on pay-per-view. Though, PPV fights will have even more odds than usual — which is expected since it draws more betting interest, especially from “casuals.” During such fights, the prop market will especially be hot-handed at BetOnline.

Why MyTopSportsbooks loves BetOnline to bet on Boxing:

  • Great prices on its bets
  • $1000 sign-up bonus for new players
  • Diverse sportsbook menu

Bovada Is The Best All-Round Site For Boxing Betting

Bovada earns our honor as the best overall site for boxing betting because, to borrow a term from the sport, it’s proven it can “go the distance.” And by that, we mean, this sportsbook won’t ever let you down and stay “knocked down.” The site almost always works like it’s supposed to — even on big fight nights when a flood of bettors is on the site (it’s not uncommon for competitors to crash during such moments).  This is a major reason why Bovada has become, perhaps, the most-used offshore bookmaker inside the United States.

But another reason for Bovada’s widespread popularity is its sportsbook menu, which features a heavy dose of boxing. Not only will you find betting lines for the most marquee in-ring matchups (e.g. Canelo Alvarez or Anthony Joshua fights), but you’ll also find odds for the random ShoBox or ESPN card. If it’s a boxing event being broadcast on TV or PPV, it’s a good chance you can bet on it at Bovada.

One more thing that needs to be said about Bovada: you can go from reading this sentence to dropping bets on the site within minutes. Seriously, the sign-up process is as seamless as you’ll find across the industry. Just input your normal information (name, age, address) and pick a payment method (bank wire, card, crypto, etc.) and you’ll be ready to place bets on the next bout.

Why MyTopSportsbooks loves Bovada to bet on Boxing:

  • Established bookie with decades long reputation
  • Quick and easy sign-up process
  • Massive betting menu

Bonuses At MyBookie Are “Cream Of The Crop”

Boxing is commonly called “prize fighting” and in a way, sports betting is the same. While fun and entertaining, the ultimate name of the game is to make money, which isn’t easy in a sport where fights can change with a single punch. However, with bonuses, money can be had upfront — whether you win or lose your actual bets. And in our opinion, MyBookie’s deposit bonus are industry-leading.

First-time players of the site are eligible for up to $1000 in free play right off the bat. A cool grand for free — no typo! This welcome bonus is matched at 100 percent of a player’s initial deposit, therefore, to max out the deal you’ll need to insert $1000 of your own. It’s a hefty price (especially in the current economic conditions), but in theory, it’s a 2-for-1 deal on your first deposit. And once the free play is in your account, you can bet as you wish with it, whether it’s on a boxing bout or an entirely different sport.

That welcome bonus is the highest in terms of dollar amount, but it’s far from the lone deal available at MyBookie. You can turn these free bets into real money after going through the rollover requirement. The site is routinely updating its offers so there are plenty more ways to earn free play beyond that one-time bonus.

Why MyTopSportsbooks loves MyBookie to bet on Boxing:

  • Big-money bonuses
  • Many different banking options
  • Straight-forward betting experience

Boxing Props Are Abundant On Xbet

Earlier we lauded BetOnline’s prop market for boxing, however, it doesn’t match what’s available at XBet regularly. Compared to the previous bookies mentioned, XBet is on the newer side — and because of that, it needs to find ways to stand out in the crowded marketplace. Welp, a diverse prop betting menu is one of those key ways. Rather than merely betting who wins a fight, XBet allows you to wager on how exactly the bout will be decided (stoppage, decision, draw) and even in what round (all 12 can be wagered on). That’s one example, but many more props such as these exist within XBet’s menu.

What to Look for at the Best Boxing Betting Sites

When it comes to online boxing betting, using the right sports betting sites is absolutely key. So, what to look for in online betting sites?

One is to make sure they have competitive boxing betting odds.  This is essentially the price of the product you are buying and can really change how much you end up with when you make a withdrawal. Ideally, these odds will be competitive across a number of betting markets for different boxing fights.

New customers are also often mobile bettors. If you are interested in online sports betting, it makes sense to want to do so on a mobile app. All of the sportsbooks we recommend here are also available on iOS and Android as boxing betting apps. And, don’t worry, you can access all the same boxing markets on mobile devices. Check out our guide to finding the best mobile betting app.

You will also want to make sure they accept your deposit method of choice.  Some of the most common ones are Paypal and other e-wallets, credit cards, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Whatever your preference is, you probably do not want to open a whole bank account just for this, so make sure their supported banking options matches your preference.

Boxing Betting Strategies And Tips at MyTopSportsbooks

Betting on boxing is a whole different beast. That means you need boxing betting strategies that are specific to this sport. If you try to implement a betting strategy from another sport, it just won’t make sense. The bets tend to measure different things in boxing, such as round bets, or how wins are earned.

That’s why we here at MyTopSportsbooks offer these boxing betting tips and strategies. They should help you have the most fun possible and be more likely to come out on top!

Be Specific About How Boxers Match Up

In order to make the best boxing bets, it is not enough to know which boxer is better. Each boxer has their specific strengths and weaknesses. Do they have great stamina? How do they handle face or body hits? Are they fast? Or, do they have a long reach?

This boxing betting strategy also requires a bit more studying. You cannot simply look at boxing records and rankings. You will have to become more intimately familiar with the boxers. But this is the type of knowledge that you need to get a leg up on the competition.

Watch Out for the Hype

Boxing garners a lot of hype, as the fights are often media circuses and rather rare events. This type of attention sometimes means a storyline or narrative can take hold and become common sense without really ever getting enough scrutiny.

Once you notice the storyline, that does not mean you should ignore it. Not at all. Rather, understand how that is factoring into the odds. This is where the true advantage comes from. It becomes a frame for interpreting the odds and can help you spot overvalued selections and thus lead you to the best boxing bets.

Boxing Betting Analysis: Live Betting in Boxing

It may be surprising, but you can absolutely bet on boxing during the match. In fact, this is one of the most popular ways to bet on boxing. Live boxing betting is available at almost every sportsbook, and certainly at all the ones we recommend.

And there are lots of great reasons to bet on boxing live. Some of them are about learning to be a better bettor:

  • Milk each rare match for all it’s worth
  • More odds for each wager
  • Test your skills against the best bettors
  • See how odds are affected as the match progresses

If you want to bet live, you will be able to make plenty of bets. Almost all types of bets are also available live. So, whatever your specialty is, you will find a good outlet in this type of boxing betting.

When are Betting Lines Released?

You will have plenty of time to consider placing a bet, though, as marquee fights will be announced months in advance, and betting lines will be released immediately after that announcement. In some cases, if a truly huge fight is rumored to be taking place (such was the case with Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr), sportsbooks will start accepting bets on it before negotiations are even complete. However, these bets come with the condition that if the fight doesn’t take place within a specific timeframe, all wagers will be returned.

Can Bets Be Voided?

Of course, for any fight to have action, both listed boxers must enter the ring for it to count. If one of the listed boxers withdraws and is replaced, all bets made on the initial matchup are void.

How we rank the best boxing betting sites

Our ranking process for the best boxing betting sites is thorough and based on several key factors to ensure the top recommendations for bettors. We evaluate each platform’s licensing and security to confirm that it is properly regulated and safe for users. Additionally, we analyze the betting markets and odds, ensuring that you get access to a wide range of boxing events with competitive odds. User experience is a big part of our criteria as well, meaning we only recommend sites that are easy to navigate on both desktop and mobile devices. We also consider bonuses, promotions, and customer service, so you know you’re getting great value with reliable support when betting on boxing.

How to sign up for a boxing betting site

Getting started with a boxing betting site is easy if you follow these simple steps:

  1. Select a Site: Start by choosing a reputable boxing betting site from our recommended list. Look for a site that offers competitive odds, solid promotions, and the features you want.
  2. Register an Account: Once you’ve chosen a site, click on the “Sign-Up” or “Join Now” button. You’ll be asked to provide personal information such as your name, email, and address.
  3. Verify Your Account: Most sites require identity verification for security purposes. You may need to upload documents like an ID or proof of address to complete the verification process.
  4. Deposit Funds: Head to the banking section to deposit money into your account. Most sites accept a range of payment methods, including credit/debit cards, e-wallets, and bank transfers.
  5. Claim a Bonus: Many boxing betting sites offer welcome bonuses. Be sure to claim any sign-up offers or promotions when making your first deposit.
  6. Start Betting: After funding your account, you’re ready to place your first bet. Navigate to the boxing section, choose the fight you want to bet on, and submit your wager.

The Different Ways You Can Bet on Boxing

As for the types of bets you can make on combat sports, the biggest boxing matches (again, like McGregor/Mayweather and Mayweather/Pacquiao) will have a world of props for you to choose from (which we’ll cover shortly). On the other hand, average fights – even average title fights – won’t offer a ton of different options, though they’ll still have enough to keep you hanging on from the starting bell to the final decision.

Discover further information on how to place bets on boxing by exploring this resource.

Boxing Moneyline Betting

Two boxers will enter, and one will (usually) leave victorious. If you bet on the winner’s moneyline, you’ll win your wager. A panel of three judges scores every bout, so even if both boxers are left standing at the end, a decision will be rendered, and one will usually be declared the winner. (Draws are rare but possible.)

In terms of settling bets, all decisions announced in the ring are final. If a boxer appeals a decision and the ruling is amended down the line, wagers will not be returned.

Moneyline betting

Even with judges, it is possible to have a fight ruled a draw. If two or more judges score the fight as a draw, it will be declared as such. Or if Judge 1 has the blue corner winning, Judge 2 has the red corner winning, and Judge 3 has it scored a draw, the match will be ruled a split draw. In all these scenarios, moneyline bets will be void and wagers will be returned.

If one fighter is disqualified, then his opponent will be deemed the winner. If both fighters are disqualified, the fight is ruled a “no contest,” and all wagers are returned.

The moneyline odds on boxing matches won’t look much different than the moneyline odds on games in team sports. The two boxers will each be listed with their potential payout next to their name.

Example: Mayweather McGregor Odds

ufc moneyline sample line floyd mayweather vs conor mcgregor
As we’ve gone over elsewhere, the -800 payout for Mayweather indicates that he was the (massive) favorite and that you would have had to wager $800 on him just to win $100. Conversely, the +500 payout for McGregor means you could potentially have won $500 on only a $100 bet. (Of course, that would have required McGregor to win the boxing match – a sport he’s never competed in professionally – against one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in history; so, as a rule, don’t let yourself get blindly tempted by the potential windfall. Make sure you’re carefully considering all your bets!)

Round Betting

On a certain, basic level, total round betting is like game total betting (which you can read about here): bookmakers will set a total number of rounds for the fight, and bettors can select either over or under.

For boxing, fights have a maximum of 12 rounds but can be as short as four.

The rounds total in Mayweather vs. McGregor, which was scheduled for 12 rounds, was at 9.5 before the fight. Because the event went into the 10th round, the over bettors won. If the match had ended before the 10th round, the under bettors would have won. Importantly, when the total rounds are set as a half number, it does not mean that the match has to go halfway through that round in order to reach the over. In this case, as soon as the the 10th round had started, the over bettors had won, even if the match had ended three seconds into the 10th round.

Similar to total round betting, you can also bet:

  • the specific round a fight will end in (and in favor of which boxer), and
  • if a fight will “go the distance” (e. go to decision)

For the former, you can generally get decent payouts which reflect the low chance of predicting the exact round correctly.

Floyd Mayweather vs Connor McGregorRound Betting

Connor McGregor in round one+1800
Floyd Mayweather in round two+1600

Floyd Mayweather in round four+1800
Connor McGregor in round four+3300

Method of Victory

Since specificity pays, “method of victory” bets are another popular option for betting on boxing, especially on very one-sided fights. You can select each boxer to win by KO/TKO or decision in boxing. You can also bet on the rare occurrence of a draw.

Here’s an example of what that will look like on any given site. (We’ve cropped the table after five rounds to save space; ordinarily, it would list all 12 scheduled rounds.)

Parlay Betting (Multiples Betting)

For bettors looking for a bigger potential payout, it’s popular to parlay a few results from the same card together. (Not sure what I mean by “parlay?” Read this first.) Any moneyline, round, or method of victory bet can be parlayed into an event from another. However, you can’t parlay two events from the same event together. An example of this would be the Mayweather moneyline (-800) and Mayweather winning in round three (+1600).

You can place single bets on both of those outcomes at one sportsbook; you cannot tie them together in a parlay.
