Normally, we’ve gotten used to seeing nothing but good Ohio sports betting news since its launch last year. Last year in February, things were much better, as the 2024 number was a 41.1 percent decrease from what we saw in 2023. The hope was that with the Super Bowl, Ohio would be able to stay on track for its winter projections. Despite the 49ers and Chiefs recording a classic game, it didn’t matter for the betting figures.
Last year, the Chiefs and Eagles faced off in the Super Bowl, which led to a ton of betting action. Ohio at the time was only in its second month of legal sports betting. The numbers could not have been better, which was amazing to see. However, it’s tough to pinpoint what led to such a decrease this winter. Ohio has consistently been one of the top betting states in the USA, so this definitely feels like a bit of a step backward.
Thus far in 2024, things have dropped a bit year-over-year, but it’s important to remember that everything was new in Ohio at this point last betting season, which of course led to an uptick in the states. It didn’t seem reasonable for everything to stay on course the way it was previously. Having said that, the hope is that Ohio can get back on track this spring and summer. It will be interesting to see how things go down in the coming months, but we’re confident that things will improve.

Meanwhile for the Reds, they’re in a big-time series with the Phillies. This is an exciting showdown for the NL Central side, as the Phillies have a loaded squad. The NL East club is of course led by the strong play of Bryce Harper, a man who is no stranger to taking home MLB MVP honors. While the Reds don’t have great MLB betting odds to win the division, we have a feeling they’ll be able to surprise a lot of people this season.
As for MLB betting as a whole, analysts think the Dodgers, Braves and Yankees will make a ton of World Series betting noise in 2024. The good news for the Bengals is that Joe Burrow is expected to be fully healthy by the time the season starts. Having said that, Bengals fans will be betting big time on the NFL Draft, hoping they can get the team’s picks right. The exact same can be said for Browns supporters. The April 25 numbers should be sky-high.
