A $1 million prize pool is up for grabs during the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 event, which takes place between December 11 and 17 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Singapore. The ESL event features 12 teams from around the world vying for their share of the prize pool.
The event brings together three teams who were invited to the event, along with two teams from the Western Europe and Eastern Europe qualifiers. The top teams from the following qualifying events are also participating: MENA, China, Southeast Asia, North America, and South America.
The event’s Group Stage features two single round-robin groups of six teams who play a two-game series. The Grand Final of the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 is best-of-five.

Gaimin Gladiators
One of the direct invites to the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 tournament, Gaimin Gladiators, play out of Western Europe. The team, which has been playing as a unit since December 2022, has picked up its fair share of wins this year, including victories at the Berlin and Bali Majors. In more recent competition, Gaimin Gladiators finished in the runner-up spot in The International 2023, losing to Team Spirit in the Grand Final. Team Spirit is not participating in this event due to health reasons.
Team Liquid
Team Liquid qualified for the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 tournament after defeating Entity 2-0 in the upper bracket final of the Western Europe Qualifier. Before that, the club finished in 5th-6th place at The International 2023, where Gaimin Gladiators eliminated them in the lower bracket quarterfinals.
Team Liquid’s best finish in a big event this year was a runner-up spot to Team Spirit at the Riyadh Masters 2023 event. They took home $2.5 million in that event.
Most of Team Liquid’s current roster has been together since 2019, with one member joining in 2022 and another in November 2023.
BB Team
BetBoom Team made their way to the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 tournament by winning the Eastern Europe qualifier. BetBoom has not had a big win outside of that event in 2023. However, they played well at Riyadh Masters, where they finished in 5th-6th place and then placed third during DreamLeague Season 21. Most recently, BB Team placed 5th-6th at The International 2023.
