A $1 million prize pool is up for grabs during the ESL One Birmingham 2024 event, which takes place between April 22 and April 28, 2024, at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England. The ESL event features 12 teams from around the world vying for their share of the prize pool. The winning team takes home $300,000, while the runner-up pockets $175,000. EPT Points are also up for grabs at the tournament, with the winning squad earning 6,400 points and the second-place club getting 4,800.
The event brings together four teams who were invited based on their placement on the EPT leaderboard and eight teams who punched their tickets to the tournament through their regional qualifiers. The following regional qualifiers occurred earlier this year: North America, South America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East and North Africa, China, and Southeast Asia.
The event’s Group Stage features two single round-robin groups of six teams who play a two-game series. The top two teams from each group move to the upper bracket playoffs, while the third and fourth-place clubs head to the lower bracket playoffs. The playoffs are double-elimination and best-of-three. The Grand Final of the ESL One Birmingham 2024 is best-of-five.

Team Falcons
Team Falcons qualified for the ESL One Birmingham 2024 event by winning the MENA Closed Qualifier in late January. The team downed PSG Quest to win that event. That victory followed a 5th-6th place finish at the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 event, a tournament where Team Falcons were listed at +2000 to win.
The team plays out of Saudi Arabia, and they have been having a good year in 2024, winning the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 event in February and DreamLeague Season 22 in March. Team Falcons pocketed $700,000 in winnings for triumphing in those events.
The current Team Falcons roster came together in November 2023 with all new members joining the club at that time.

Team Spirit
Playing out of Russia, Team Spirit earned their spot at the ESL One Birmingham 2024 tournament by winning the Eastern Europe Closed Qualifier in January. The team has not won an event since then, placing 5th-6th at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, fourth at DreamLeague Season 22, fourth at 1win Series Dota 2 Spring, and fourth at the DreamLeague Season 23: Eastern Europe Closed Qualifier. Team Spirits most recent big victory came in October 2023 when they beat Gaimin Gladiators 3-0 to win The International 2023 for a grand prize of $1,521,362. They also took home $5 million after winning the Riyadh Masters 2023 at the end of July.
Team Spirit’s roster has been together since late 2022, and with their big wins in 2023, they have to be considered one of the teams to watch at the ESL One Birmingham 2024 event.

Team Liquid
One of the four teams to earn an invite to the ESL One Birmingham 2024 event based on their points (along with Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team, and Xtreme Gaming), Team Liquid compete out of the Netherlands. The club has not had a big win for a while, but they did finish in second place at the Riyadh Masters 2023 in July, losing to Team Spirit 3-1 in the Grand Final.
