The ESL Challenger Series is designed to give aspiring Counter-Strike 2 teams a path to the ESL Pro League. The upcoming ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta 2023 features eight teams and a prize pool of $100,000. The winning squad takes home $50,000 and more importantly, qualifies for the ESL Pro League Season 19, which begins in April, and has a prize pool of $750,000.

The ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta 2023 tournament begins with two double-elimination groups playing in a best-of-one format in the opening round and Winners’ matchups. The Elimination and Decider matchups are best-of-three. The top two teams in each group move on to the playoffs, which are single elimination and best-of-three.

Between those tournaments, Complexity failed to make it out of the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 group stage after going 1-2 in their group.
Monte
Playing out of Ukraine, Monte has been playing very well over the past month, finishing as the runner-up in Roobet Cup 2023, placing 3rd-4th at the Thunderpick World Championship 2023, and most recently, winning the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Winter 2023. Between those three events, Monte has earned $150,000 in prize money.
One thing working against Monte in this event is that Virtus Pro eliminated them from the Roobet Cup and Thunderpick events, beating them 2-1 in each tournament. However, they exacted some revenge on that club when they downed Virtus Pro 2-1 in the semifinals of the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Winter 2023 event.
