How to Read Mexican Grand Prix Odds

When looking at the odds to win the Mexican Grand Prix, there are some important things to keep in mind. Navigating them can be confusing at first, but learning how to read odds in American format is actually quite easy.

The first thing to know is that the lower the value, the more likely that bet is to win, according to the betting market. Favorites have the lowest values, even reaching the negative values.

However, when wagers are more likely, they are also worth less money. You can also calculate your `potential reward based on your risk and the values represented in the American odds format. This goes for Formula 1 racing, the Mexican Grand Prix, and any other sporting event.

If the odds value is positive, it represents your payout if you risk $100. If the value is negative, it represents how much you have to risk to earn a payout of $100.

The Mexican drivers that have raced in the Mexican GP

Amazingly there have not been that many Mexican drivers to compete in the Mexican Grand Prix since it first started, and it’s been a long time since the last Mexican driver competed. We have to go back to Moisés Solana, who was a contemporary of the Rodríguez brothers, who made 8 F1 starts. Héctor Rebaque is another who raced in F1 between 1977 and 1981. He first began his racing career with Hesketh, then ended it racing for Brabham—He also briefly had his own team under the name Team Rebaque.

More recently it was Esteban Gutiérrez who was competing for Ferrari and Force India’s driver Sergio Pérez, who has proven to be quite a force in Formula 1. Formula 1 has classically been dominated by European drivers, but the sport is expanding and we are likely to see more international drivers in the coming years.
