Delaware Sports Betting Has Skyrockted Thanks to Online Wagers

You had a feeling this was going to be the case for Delaware sports betting news, right? This winter, after years of trying to get things done, Delaware made online sports betting legal and people have been loving every minute of it since. Previously, only in-person betting was allowed at only a handful of locations. Now, though, Delaware sports betting has skyrocketed thanks to online wagers and officials have to be through the roof about things.

According to a report, the numbers in recent months have been absolutely sensational. In March, the sports betting handle was $18.9 million, which was 440 percent higher than the stats that were posted the year before. March’s stats were also 37 percent higher than what we saw in February, speaking to how great things have been so far this year. Lawmakers were quite confident there’d be a boost in betting, but who expected this?

While things have been great to start the new year, all signs are pointing to the numbers growing even further this summer. Baseball is king for the summer months and it’s easily one of the top sports in Delaware. While the state doesn’t have a pro team, local fans love following the Philadelphia Phillies and they’ll surely be checking the team’s MLB betting odds as the heart of the regular season gets here.

You already know that a lot of people will be excited to bet on the All-Star Game as well, as guys like Bryce Harper will be ready to put on a show during the mid-summer classic. Then once the postseason gets here, Phillies bets are sure to be on fire. All in all, things have looked great since the historic change has been made. It will be interesting to see what the year-over-year figures will be, but something tells us it will be a record-breaking year for Delaware sports betting.

NFL betting will be huge for Delaware over the coming months too

It goes without saying, but NFL betting will be huge for Delaware over the coming months too. Similar to the MLB, there’s no NFL team in the state, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that people follow the Eagles, Giants and Jets quite closely. With the Eagles, they’re hoping some big offseason moves will lead to the team getting back to the Super Bowl. Last year didn’t go as planned, but the signing of Saquon Barkley still has a lot of people talking.

In New York, both the Jets and Giants are in desperate need of bounce-back seasons. For the Jets, a healthy Aaron Rodgers is going to make or break their campaign. Last year, Rodgers tore his Achilles early on in the first game of the fall, which was a nightmare. After that, all hopes of the postseason were wiped away. Now, though, Rodgers is looking sharp at OTAs and that’s obviously good news for star wideout Garrett Wilson.

On the other side of town, the Giants need Daniel Jones to have a bounce-back season. The former No. 6 overall pick is coming off a torn ACL and a serious neck injury suffered in ’23. Will he be able to remind everyone of how great he can be with the ball in his hands? We’ll find out soon, but he’s getting a lot of help with an improved offensive line and Malik Nabers being taken in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

NFL betting as a whole should be strong for Delaware, as this will be the first full season where online sports betting is legal from start to finish. If you think the sports betting numbers have been great now, just wait until the NFL campaign and NCAAF betting gets here too. Things are going to reach a new level for Delaware, which will be great to see for everyone involved. Indeed, we can’t wait for August and September to get here.

Sports betting revenue is booming for Delaware

It should be no surprise too that sports betting revenue is booming for Delaware. This is something that people in the capitol were hoping for, as obviously with an uptick in the total handle, this would of course mean more money being generated for the state as well. This was a major reason why online sports betting was introduced in the first place – for more money to come into the state for needed resources. So far, things are looking great in that department.

With the football season expected to be electric too, this only means that more revenue will be coming for Delaware. This just goes to show how important legal online wagers can be. Will other states follow suit who are yet to make the change? Only time will tell, but for a small state like Delaware to put up the kinds of numbers they are, it just goes to show how great things can be when mobile options end up being put on the table.
