Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez, has won the other two races this season. So, with the second part of the season about to commence, are we likely to see anything different? Or is it going to be more of the same?
Betting to win the 2023 F1 Dutch Grand Prix
The best Formula 1 betting sites are certainly expecting more of the same as they have made Max Verstappen the favorite to win his home Grand Prix at odds of just -400. This is the shortest the Dutchman has been all season. It could be that his odds are being influenced by the extra incentive of him wanting to win his home race.
Behind Verstappen in the betting is his teammate Sergio Perez at +1100. Then it’s Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris at +1600, with Charles Leclerc even further back at a huge looking +2500.

Betting to win the Driver’s Championship without Max Verstappen
Due to the dominance of Max Verstappen and the Red Bull team this season, there’s been no Driver’s Championship betting market available for the last few weeks. The closest we have to a competitive market is in the betting to win the Driver’s Championship without Verstappen. And even this is dominated by Red Bull.
Sergio Perez has led the way since the opening of this market. And after seeing his odds trimmed to -225 a few weeks ago, Perez is now the clear favorite again at odds of -400.
Sergio Perez is now on 189 points. That’s a decent-sized lead over Fernando Alonso (149) and Lewis Hamilton (148). But despite sitting 1-point behind Fernando Alonso, Hamilton is miles ahead of the Spaniard in the betting. Hamilton is +275, with Alonso at +3300. This is after Alonso’s Aston Martin has struggled in recent weeks.
Betting to win the Constructors Championship without Red Bull
Another market worth taking a quick look at ahead of the F1 resumption this weekend is to win the Constructors Championship without Red Bull.
At the top of the Constructors Championship, Red Bull has a monstrous 503 points. Behind them is Mercedes at 247, with Aston Martin at 196 and Ferrari at 191.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc has set his team the challenge of catching Mercedes and finishing second in the championship. At the moment, Mercedes leads the way in the betting at -350, with Ferrari at +350. McLaren is at +1600, with Aston Martin (seemingly heading backward) at +5000.
The Ferrari car is due for more upgrades in the coming weeks. While Mercedes struggled in Belgium, Hamilton and Russell again reported their cars were suffering from bounce issues. So maybe a small investment in Ferrari might be worthwhile.
Our Dutch Grand Prix Race Picks
A bit like the sun rising in the morning, if Max Verstappen turns up and performs like we know he can, he will no doubt win his third successive Dutch Grand Prix. You can back him if you wish, but at odds of -400, he can’t be one of our Formula 1 betting picks.
Top Three Finish Picks
Instead, we’re looking towards the top three finish betting. Here, Max Verstappen is -900, with his teammate Sergio Perez next at -200. The two British drivers Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris are both at +120, with Charles Leclerc at +225, making up the top five in this market.
The only other drivers with a realistic chance in this market are Oscar Piastri (+350), Carlos Sainz (+600), George Russell (+600), and Fernando Alonso (+600).
Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri have been in decent form in recent weeks. Leclerc finished third in his last outing in Belgium, and with the Ferrari car receiving upgrades and Mercedes struggling, Leclerc looks good to finish in the top three.
The McLaren of Oscar Piastri has also been performing well in recent weeks and if that form continues into the second half of the season, it’s only a matter of time before Piastri finds himself on the podium.
A fifth-place finish in Hungary and a fourth place at the British Grand Prix shows just how close Piastri has come lately. We’re happy to back him at +350 to finish in the top three in the Dutch Grand Prix.
